Still weird because there's no problem with the Wii's Wifi... but i'll try those, thanks.

Edit: Yeah it just finished...I've downloaded 1gig+ demos from the 360 marketplace way faster than this took (more than an hour), and this was only 626MB.

EDIT2: I gotta say though... the PS3 is surprisingly quiet.

Would those be the Port Forwards for anyone do you think? Or is that just for your specific PS3?

Also, I converted my movie in the Mpeg-4 format or w/e WhoDat, and put it on my flash drive. The PS3 recognizes the flash drive and all, but won't pick up the movie. I just titled it "Rounders". Any advice?

Those Port Forwards are for all PS3's

Is the flash drive in the Fat32 format?

PS3 doesn't read NTFS (for some reason)

I partioned my 40GB PS2 HDD into an external HDD, and made 31.5GB as Fat32 and the Rest as NTFS for PC back-up files (I'm not a super-computer genius that knows everything; but I'm well off to know this is good enough)

Also I torrented Norton Partition Magic 8 to get all of this done, and it is a ridiculous wonderful program.

I can't find that damn PS2/PS3 Mem. card adapter ANYWHERE lol... I truly hope Sony will ship some more soon. (I could just get it off ebay, but the damn thing costs 15 bucks and people on ebay want 40+10 for shipping... are you kidding me? lol.)

Oh and I know it's kind of odd, but I just realized last night that the ps3 controller didn't have a rumbling feature... wth is up with that? ... Sony were the first to introduce it, and they're the first to take it away? Doesn't make much sense, especially for a 50(?) dollar controller.

It either had to do with a lawsuit dealing with it and or not enough space in the control to keep the orginal size and layout.

    Oh and nice sig lol

Something I've been wondering, but have yet to try. Is it possible to hook up an Ipod (80GB version, but I guess that doesn't matter) to the system, and transfer songs?

I got a quick question about the virtual memory cards on the PS3 HDD...

I keep reading horror stories about memory cards completely wiping from all the data that was in them for some reason, and sony will fix it in March bla bla bla...

My question is... does it just wipe out ALL the memory cards? or does it just hit 1 specific one... because if it's just one, I can just create a 2nd PS2 memory card on the HDD and save the games on it as well, and in that case if one wipes I still have another hard copy of the save file.

I really don't feel like coming up with different solutions so I could back my PS3 up every day, because it sounds ridiculous.

If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know.

EDIT: Oh and Pro, nothing happens if you just unplug it during the "do not disconnect"... they just have it there so you don't disconnect it while you're transferring data, because you might lose it.

Also on Socom the most you can do is 16 on 16, not 8 on 8.
You don't have to play 40peeps.. you can play 8 on 8 or 4 on 4.. or anything you want. As for lag I have not experienced at all on Resistance. 2hr matches? They are 15mins max and normally end in 10...... and to Po I wasn't really knocking GoW. GoW has the best graphics atm and the game looks aiight. I just think I would perfer resistance over GoW for the reasons I stated. I posted "Socom is 8 on 8? maybe alittle more".... obviously I wasn't being exact. I haven't played Socom in years and I was just going off the top of my head. I didn't type "SOCOM IS ONLY UP TO 8 on 8" ;p . Anyways Resistance and GoW are both good games.

Update 1.51 came out today, and it fixed up a lot of the lagging issues in the menu... everything runs more smoothly now, and you don't see the weird CD spinning every time you try to load something (or even view your virutal memory cards.)

Now if they could only fix the Wifi up a bit...

Well...Senior VP said they were taking price cuts into consideration on the 31st. However, in this article http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3156655 from Jan. 23rd, just a week earlier SCEA chief Jack Tretton said don't hold your breath.

"He followed with a rationalization to the effect that the sizeable hardware development cost of the Big Black Box makes it difficult for Sony to "cost reduce," apparently justifying that $600 price tag."

So I'm not sure if it actually IS getting price cut, because two high ups are contridicting themselves. Plus, 500$ is still ALOT of money. It's great that Sony is aware of the problems that its system is having, but I still can't justify 500$ for a system, plus a 60$ game. That's still almost 600$.
So eh. I'll wait for a huge price drop in a year or two before I even consider it.

btw, for those of you that are enjoying Resistance, try out the platformer Ratchet and Clank series if you haven't already. They're some of the best, most fun platforming games I've ever played. PS2 onry, although I think they're coming out with a new one (but that might be for ps2 also).

It's not really having any problems, except for the fact it doesn't have any big-name titles yet... once DMC and MGS and FF and VF5 come out, things will definitely start to look up for them, and when all of those will be out at the same time, suddenly paying for that 600 price tag won't look as bad.

I dont care how many A+ titles come out for the PS3, I refuse to pay almost 650$ for one.

I'll admit the 3v3 4v4's in Resistance was fun, 20v20 15v15 etc were just too much, no lag at all which was a huge bonus, but getting gangraped by 3-4 people at once wasn't much fun. The hit detection was mediocre, it shouldn't take a full clip to drop one person, if you think I'm wrong play socom 1. Rainbow Six Vegas seems like the opposite and thats why I'm patiently waiting until next month when it ports to the ps3.

16v16 on socom 3/CA was horrid, game lagged to no end, maps the size of Africa where you'd literally spend 40minutes to complete one map, just a complete clusterfuck of badness.

Every shooter should take a page out of the Socom 1 handbook.
