Aurik I have a question, I know you usually use monks to tank but what is your ideal setup? It seems to be working incredibly well for you guys though grats on all the upgrades.

Depends on how many we take. rdm + whm + 2 mnk + 1 thf + bard or another DD is our usual setup with 6.

Actually I like the fact that he's wearing a brown belt. It's proof you don't have to be in an HNM shell or even an endgame shell to be successful in Salvage.

True. It's nice to know that there are things you can accomplish in the game that doesn't require standing at the same place for 3hrs with 100 other people spamming enter. Oh, and I don't understand why anyone would even care what he wears. Last I checked, this is 'salvage gears' thread, not 'rate his gears' thread.

No destroyers = wtf, they're sinfully easy to get for such a powerful endgame weapon. I suppose he could be a 75sam or 75nin primary job, and just finds that even without awesome gear he's better off coming mnk

If you don't have destroyers? Come on, they are easy as hell to get, dropping the waghs for destroyers would make a bigger difference in damage than those salvage gears would, so yes it is a waste.

Even if mnk isn't his main, there's no excuse for not having them if you actually leveled mnk to 75.

Depends on your definition of easy. I personally burned over 400 seals trying to get a pair of destroyers. When they finally did drop on a run of 6 KSNMs, 5/6 of them dropped destroyers.

They're 1 in 4 from the appropriate KSNM...as long as you're doing rounds of 6 with friends instead of contracting out your single orb, it would take some phenomenal bad luck to not have them after 2 full rounds.

Considering Wagh's latent, they are even worse in Salvage until you unlock /ja. As was mentioned already, Destroyers are amazingly easy to get. Spending the time to get 2 pieces of Salvage gear and you can't get a Free set of H2H that blow anything else out of the water is just sad and a waste.

Spamming some BCs(that also drop items you can make some solid gil off of) for something is easy compared to camping shit for 3hrs every day for months or running a much through Salvage for months to complete pieces.

edit: I've helped get 2 sets of them for friends and myself. We went like 4/5 for mine, 3/6 for one friend and 3/4 for the other. There are like 4 possible Crit+% weapons to drop in each BC and one always drops, so it's a 25% chance everytime I believe.

I distinctly remember burning a lot of KS to help LS members get destroyers for their monks, and the drop rate on it was not very good...
