Sure is, but that's why SE gave BLM so many Refresh body options.
Not that they nuke in. >_> BLU can idle in a vermy just as well as a BLM.
But BLU can melee in Morrigan's much better than they can melee in Vermy is my points. XD BLMs spend less time nuking than they do not nuking. But I suppose most of that is in Errant/Yigit lol.

    Re: Salvage Gears anyone?

BLM standard procedure is nuke then rest. To the extent that MP is a limiting factor, it's primarily going to be how quickly you can recover MP while resting rather than the 1 mp per tick from fulltime refresh effect, which is why most good BLM invest in a good hMP set. BLU standard procedure very rarely involves resting to be effective. You have low-cost spells on a relatively low timer, and the frequency with which you can use them depends primarily on the amount of MP you're recovering per tick. Having a body with good melee stats and refresh effect means you become 20% more effective in terms of spell usage, which is a principle component of your overall damage.

Anyhow, I'm not the kind of person who mocks other LSs for what job they choose to give their item too, but even if I was, I don't think that the Morrigan robe to BLU fits the criteria at all. In fact if pressed to pick which job benefits most from it, I'd lean towards BLU as well, but I think it's close enough to both to where it shouldn't even be an issue.

is it really that big of a deal which job it goes to? if theyre working hard towards it and have one of the jobs that can use it, i dont see the point in arguing lol. Same with the skadi shit. Yea not all the stats are the best for BST, but if you have a dedicated BST whos working hard with the group, why should he/she be excluded?

If your shell is full of all hard-working BSTs and nothing but jackass good-for-nothing not-showing-up other melee then sure. But also if your shell fits that criteria, your shell F*cking fails.

Going back up to the BLM/BLU thing I see how both can benefit but in all honesty BLM has always lacked one thing. A body piece we can keep on for practically the entire time. Your "alternatives" are Sorcerer's Coat (Skill set only. If you're going all-out skill on an HNM? Ok. Anything else? You're gimping yourself.) and a Black cloak which inhibits the use of anything in our head slot which would be absolutely RETARDED to be nuking in. I'll get my Morrigan Body finished and then I'll only need my skill set (Coat) and then my INT set (Mahatma) for any situation. Also I don't include Dalmatica in that list purely because ... well loldalmaticablm.

I can't think of many BLMs that dont have RDM, BRD, or all 3 leveled at this point. That being said, this like any rare equip people like to be butthurt about, still has more use to a BLM than a WHM or a SMN, as a space saver for self yellowing gear. If that isnt a good enough use it can also be used for afking in town and making all the uptight jealous faggots cry.

Can we get back to people posting salvage gear now?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Weskit add the same amount of skill as the AF2 body? I think AF2 body is pretty much useless now if you have Morrigan, Dalmatica, and hell, even Black cloak is an idle refresh piece. I guess it's useful for lookin' cool in Whitegate. And if you're using AF2 body to nuke in cuz it has a ele skill on it, you're pretty retarded given a NQ weskit is like 20k now.

    Re: Salvage Gears anyone?

technically the af2+1 body has +7 elemental magic, and if for some reason you needed to go for an all-elemental magic setup, this would be the body piece with the highest lvl of skill on it. (genie weskit is +6)

but if yer able to actually obtain a sorcerer's coat+1, odds are you have at least a nq weskit, af gloves, nashira crackows, an elemental torque, and probably an sorcerer's petasos. that alone with just gear (not counting merciful cape) will put you at 316 elemental magic and 332 with merits, not even counting the extra elemental magic on ice spells. more than enuf to make the coat obsolete.

it does still look cool tho.

Personally, I have RDM BLM BLU at 75, so the entire set would benefit me either way. I also have WHM, but let's face it, the entire set except for maybe the feet is useless to WHM. However, I wouldn't lot the feet over the BRD that comes, since the set is at least decent for BRD. Hell, I also have NIN and COR, but I wouldn't lot Usukane or Skadi over the other MNK's, NIN's, RNG's and THF's

I may be a lot whore, but I'm not THAT whorish.

    Edit: FACE, not fact.

Well, it depends really. I usually use Zenith at the start of fights, gives 50 MP (-50 HP) and same MND (1 more for +1). However, Healer's Cap +1 have +7 MND, and is thus better for Cure V. The only thing Marduk have over those two pieces is -2 Enmity. I just don't think Marduk Tiara is worth the price tag, considering the other options available.

Only reason I'd want the entire Marduk set is for Raises, haste, and possibly Flash. Marduk Feet is, however, unrivaled the best piece in my opinion. 5 more MND then any other feet available for WHM. Also have -4 Enmity, on top of +3% MP. The only thing it doesn't have is Fast Cast (Rostrum), but I'd be more then willing to put them on my mannequin in exchange for Marduk's Crackows.

I s'pose...I guess I generally prefer cure clogs for most things on WHM. Feet and head are only pieces worth considering for WHM, that's for sure. Marduk head would give me same MP Zenith does, same MND, but no -HP and has -enmity.

Oh, and my compulsive need to never cover pigtails means AF+1 head isn't really an option.

Too bad we still can't find it really...

Well, I consider Cure Clogs somewhat worthless... High-damaging spells such as tier-4 or -ga spells on Jailer of Love, you can start casting Cure V on the person with hate before the spell finish casting through using your /assist macro, and thus cure him back to full before the spell finish casting. While not all moves have a long wind-up time, you can usually start casting Cure V before said high-damaging moves finish. Sure, there's other things as well, but I just don't think Cure Clogs are worth it when you can almost completely avoid the death of a tank through other means. Hence why the only piece I really want is Marduk feet. That'd bring my Cure V MND close to 160 I believe... I iz a MND whore

Hey I'm curious, does everyone on your team have it now? Or did everyone have it during one of the drops?

I know this is an old glitch and the odds of it working still are very low, but I'm kind of curious as to if a chariot boss would still drop a rare/ex drop if everyone in the PT/alliance already had it. My team is at the point where almost all of us have those stupid Phobos Gaunlets (picture your situation except with Gaunlets, that's how our team is), and I just recently thought of giving it a shot. It'd be 100% worth it if we never saw those stupid hands occupy a drop slot again, even if we had to reform PTs before the killshot.

Anyone else happen to give this a try yet?

That trick never worked to force other items to drop. For instance, if everybody had a particular rare item upon opening a BCNM crate, and that rare item 'dropped', you'd just end up getting one item less than the regular amount. Bosses are also different than crates, so it probably wouldn't work, although I suppose there is no harm in trying.

Something weird happened to me the other day. We were doing Silver Sea and when we killed Dekka the Skadi feet dropped obviously. Nobody wanted them, so we all passed. I was the only one left that hadn't passed and they instantly disappered from the treasure pool (I don't have them, but I do have the completed piece). There was no message that they had been lost, and everyone checked their inventories and nobody had them. They just disappeared.

Anyway not that this is related, just a weird thing that I was reminded of when reading these posts.
