9 & 10 for us :D
I'm confused, I thought NO ONE had a complete salvage set to date?Originally Posted by donnie
There have been 2 reports of complete Usukane, and with the zhayolm NMs found, there should be new reports of other complete sets soon enough. Though the numbers will be pretty low for a while as drop rates still suck, at least for my LS.Originally Posted by Jyakku

1/2 on Madame for legs/body double drop, 1/1 on Chariot to drop the corresponding 25s. I really wish we had that kinda luck with other 25s/35s.
Then do we know how great the set: haste bonus is?Originally Posted by Neosutra

So does anyone know if this counts toward equipment cap or magic cap or isnt part of a cap?
Good lord, it's only 5%? What the fuck.
Yeah, act shocked cuz SE is all about game-breaking set bonuses..
It's still amazing for most of the jobs that can wear it, but we're digressing as this horse is long since dead pages ago.
We are just kidding, its not a 5% haste bonus that pushes the set just beyond all other options and gives a nice well rounded setup, its acutally a 50% haste bonus that stacks with magic and and gear haste and adds additional effect "Death" do every swing. Double attack on Ares is also 105% increase, Fast cast on Marduk actually makes the spell go off before you cast it, and MAB actually grants you access to Meteor.Originally Posted by Jyakku

You forgot the full Skadi set bonus, which causes every attack to gain the full effect of a THF main SATA, migrates you to Asura, and gives you a suspicious Australian accent.
Well, I think the big debate comes down to 'losing X haste for Y benefits'. Let's take a look:
If I have Usukane full set, I get my 5% haste bonus on top of the 8% in the set, 13% total. For MNK the set is a hands down winner, it beats the alternatives quite throughly, in many people's eyes, and PUP, well, you have to be retarded to use anything else (though you're already retarded for using PUP, haha).. So the question really comes down to Usukane vs. typical SAM or NIN setup. Evaluating SAM, best options (in my opinion):
Head: Aces/Askar/Turban
Body: Askar/Haub(+1)
Hands: Dusk(+1)
Legs: Byakko
Feet: Usukane (even if you don't use the full set, you should use Usukane feet anyways)
The Store TP required to hit a 6 hit build with a 450 delay GK is met with merits with Usukane feet alone, can do it with just 2 Store TP merits if you use Askar body and Usukane feet and leave them both on during WS (both good pieces for WS in my opnion as well). With the Usukane body on when using the full set, you get 6 Store TP there, so your Store TP requirements are met with the full set as well. If it weren't the set probably wouldn't be worth using on SAM. So in the end, we're looking at, in my opinion anyways, if I had access to full Usukane set as well as my best alternatives:
Head (tough choice but if I had it I'd prolly use Askar head honestly since I don't think the 3 extra Accuracy is as valuable post-patch as it was before. I'll take the extra 7 evasion 4 VIT and 4 DEX personally. However, many people would use Ace's Helm so I'll use that for this comparison): Ace's Helm, 28 DEF 4 STR +7 Accuracy -7 Evasion
Body: Askar Body, 49 DEF 5 STR 12 Attack 12 Evasion 5 Store TP 2% Double Attack
Hands: Dusk Gloves +1, 25 DEF 6 Attack, 4% Haste 22HP
Legs: Byakko's Haidate, 42 DEF 15 DEX 5% Haste +50 Lightning Resist
Total: 144 DEF | 5 Evasion | 9 STR (totalling 27 effective attack) | 7 Acc | 15 DEX (totalling 22 effective acc) | 5 Store TP | 2% Double Attack | 13% Haste | 22 HP | 18 Attack | 50 Lightning Resist
Usukane set (- feet): 110 DEF | 29 Acc | 29 Evasion | 5 Subtle Blow | 2 Counter | 16 STR (totalling 26 effective attack) | 13 DEX ( totalling 42 effective acc) | 8 INT | Store TP 6 | 10 Attack | 11% Haste | 3 AGI
Subtracting differences...
Mix-and-match benefits: 34 DEF | 2 DEX | 2% Double Attack | 2% Haste | 22 HP | 8 Attack | 50 Lightning Resist
..but you lose: 24 Evasion | 22 Accuracy | 5 Subtle Blow | 2 Counter | 7 STR (making the effective attack difference 1) | 8 INT | 1 Store TP | 3 AGI
Would you rather have 34 DEF, 2 DEX, 2% Double Attack, 2% Haste, 22 HP, 8 Attack and 50 Lightning Resist, or 24 Evasion, 22 Acc, 5 Subtle Blow, 2 Counter, 7 STR, 8 INT, 3 AGI and 1 Store TP? Or, when comparing the 'relevant stats':
2 DEX, 2 Double Attack, 2% Haste, 8 Attack, 22 HP
vs.
24 Evasion, 22 Acc, 2 Counter, 7 STR, 1 Store TP?
Both are good. Unfortunately Usukane set doesn't just 'stand out' at you, like it would with 10% haste like a lot of people were hoping. In the end though I think I'd still use Usukane full set on SAM instead of what I described, given the opportunity. I don't really feel like doing this with the NIN set now that I did it on SAM, so fuck it, someone else can do it if they want.
Comparing Nin set (mine, maybe it sux, who knows).
Basic Nin gear:
Turban, 5%
Haub+1, 12acc 12 attack 6 str, 6 dex, -20 eva
dusk gloves, 3% haste, 5 attacl (i dont have HQ..)
Haidate, 5% haste 15 dex
Haste feet. 3% haste
Usukane
head: 7 acc, 7eva, 3 haste, 3 str 3 agi
body: 8 str, 8 dex, 8 agi, 12 acc, 12 eva, 5 store tp
hands: 10 acc, 10 eva, 5 subtle blow, 2 counter
legs: 3 haste 5 str, 5 dex, 10 attack
feet: 7 acc, 7 attack, 5 emnity, 5 store tp 2% haste
Total bonus:
Normal: 16% haste 12 acc, 20 attack, 6 str, 21 dex, -20 evasion
Usukane: 13% haste, 36 acc, 17 str, 13 dex, 10 store tp, 5 emnity, 17 attack, 11 agi, 5 subtle blow, 2 counter, and 29 evasion.
Difference: -3% haste, +24 acc, + 7 str, -8 dex, -3attack, + 5 emnity, + 11 agi, + 5 suble blow, +2 counter, and +50 evasion lol.
So its just like taking a normal NIN tp build and trading Dusk Gloves for
"Holy Shit Gloves"
LvL 75
Sam/Nin/Pup/Mnk
+24 acc, +7str, +5 Emnity, +10 Store Tp,
+11 Agi, + 2 counter + 50 evasion
-3 attack, -8dex.
I would say thats pretty awesome increase. And would venture to say sam is the only job that could possibly look at this set as "average" compared to their ultimate builds. It is without a doubt the best nin/mnk/pup setup in the game.
To truly compare the two, you have to consider than you have the option of using partial Usukane though. I mean, on NIN, if you have Usukane feet, full set or not, you're retarded if you use Fuma over them. A better comparison would take your optimal gear setup, using partial Usukane, and compare it to full.
EDIT: Working out the numbers (using Turban, Haub +1, Dusk +1, Byakko's, and Usukane feet vs. the entire Usukane set), we come up with the following:
Usukane set (- feet): 110 DEF | 29 Acc | 29 Evasion | 5 Subtle Blow | 2 Counter | 16 STR (totalling 26 effective attack) | 13 DEX ( totalling 42 effective acc) | 8 INT | Store TP 6 | 10 Attack | 11% Haste | 3 AGI
NIN set: 113 DEF | 14% Haste | 52HP | 30MP | 6 STR | 21 DEX | 12 Acc | 18 Atk | -5 AGI | -20 Evasion | 50 Lightning Resist
NIN set bonus: 3 DEF | 3% Haste | 52HP | 30MP | 8 DEX | 8 Attack | 50 Lightning Resist
but loses out on: 17 Acc | 49 Evasion | 5 Subtle Blow | 2 Counter | 10 STR | 8 INT | 6 Store TP | 8 AGI
Relevant Stats:
Normal NIN: 3% Haste | 52HP | 8 DEX | 8 Attack
or
Usukane NIN: 17 Acc | 49 Evasion | 5 Subtle Blow | 2 Counter | 10 STR | 6 Store TP | 8 AGI | 8 INT
In my opinion, Usukane still wins out vs. the otherwise optimal setups for all the jobs that can use it, even at 5% haste. It's just that you have to sacrifice some haste on NIN and SAM to do it, which makes some people sad. A 10% set bonus for haste would've made the set completely dominate.
I use basically that gear (except NQ Dusk Gloves), and my no-food Acc sits in the 75-85% range depending on the merit camp, so a permanent food change would also come into play (since I'd be in the 80s-to-near-capped range without food)...
Outside of parties where I can already munch Hedgehog pie (Trolls, lolMire, 2 BRD, some BRD + COR, etc.), I'd be trading 15-16%(-5) Acc and another 6 DEX for an extra 1 STR, 35 net HP, 2 VIT, and up to 90 Att.Originally Posted by Narse
I'd probably stick to "normal" NIN TP gear in good parties where I'm already eating meat and pushing 90% Acc, but in normal 1 BRD parties and general non-merit tomfoolery, Usukane looks pretty damn good to me. I'd love the opportunity to be done with sushi 99% of the time.
I really wish it were true that NIN could always use meat in merit parties, but all my experience says that just isn't realistic without Usukane. I'm a whopping 5 Acc short of what I would consider to be my ideal meat build (one that doesn't sack tons of Haste for extra Acc), and repeated parses show that at most camps, it takes a Madrigal or Hunter's Roll to push my Acc up enough to compete with sushi.
The real pain comes in when you consider AF+1 Body instead of Haub.
Assuming a normal NIN DD build with AF. Taking only the DD stats since Usukane is the best all-around set no discussion:
Turban: 5% haste
AF+1 Body: 5DEX 5% Dual Wield
Dusk Gloves: 5ATK 3% Haste
Byakko Haidate: 15DEX 5% Haste
Feet: Usukane anyway
vs
Usukane:
head: 7ACC 3%Haste 3STR
body: 8STR 8DEX 12ACC 5STORE TP
hands: 10ACC
legs: 3%Haste 5STR 5DEX 10ATTACK
feet: Usukane anyway
set: 5% Haste
Summary (ignore shoes):
Normal: 13%Haste 5% Dual Wield 20DEX 5ATK
Usukane: 11%Haste 16STR 13DEX 10ATK 22ACC 5STORETP
Difference: -2% Haste -5% Dual Wield -7DEX +16STR +22ACC +5ATK +5STORE TP
Its a hard choice. When you have full katana merit and perfect ACC gear in the other slots or enough BRDs in your party I think the normal setup comes out on top by swinging 7% faster (approx - not going into detailed dualwield/haste calculations). On the other side Usukane can give you a nice ACC boost when you dont have the best support while giving you awesome bonus stats for your survival.
On another note - people did only test Marduk Fastcast as Recast Timer? As I am told Fastcast always has half the recast time of the actual casting speed. So I would imagine the Fastcast on Body as well as Set Bonus is 10% just like RDM AF hat and AF2 Body.
Most of the pieces look rather bad from a WHM point of view but the boots. But I if I imagine a WHM with the full set having 20% Faster Cast on Spells outside Cures (CureClogs) seems nice. The Price&Work < > Gain factor look more like a rellic weapon tho.
thats what i wanna know about , the fast cast in marduk , if it does reach 10% from body and set bonus , then OMG..
