Recourse for banned accounts

I did not read page 4-5 as I was getting bored.

They have no recourse. If it's a 3-day ban then they just sweat it out, but it's a strike that might haunt them later. SE just randomly banned some people who had a strike before in a later round, just for the hell of it with no future violations.

If it's the perm ban, there is no recourse at all. I only had one 3-day ban and my account is still fine. If it's permanent then they mail you a letter and it's done. Period.

If you are on LM-xx status they won't even discuss it with you. You get no specifics, besides "we have the right to ban anyone anytime" and there is no review. SE has no customer service, nor do they care. Sorry

Steps:

1) Do what the screen says and call Customer Support.

2) Ask if it is a temp or perma ban. SE used to tell people it was a temp and perma them anyway, but as I am seeing in this banning session, they are telling people it is a perm and temp banning them.

3) Ask for an appeal. If you give them a VALID reason why it isn't true or whatever, they will review it and give the account back with an apology. If it is a valid ban, then you are fucked with no reply. In this case... you need to think of a reason that someone having the account info would be valid, or out of your control.

4) Sit back and pray.



LM-17 can turn into a perma ban, based on how the particular person reviewing your shit feels that day. It is random, and on MANY cases I have seen LM-17 turn into nothing, but have NEVER seen LM-11 be allowed back. I have also seem LM-17 turn into LM-11 after 3 days.

One of our LS members got the LM-17 but after 3 days, he couldn't log back in. Shortly thereafter when he called in, they told him he got banned. Supposedly, he got banned for randoming after a Besieged. But there were also 20 other people doing it as well.

SE linked every account linked to that CC and banned them all. I did nothing wrong at all. I've never even been in jail before...

It doesn't look like it so far.

Everyone that's been banned seems to fall in one of these categories:

1) They (or someone using their account) used pos/fleetool or illegally modified their packets at some point in the past, regardless of how far back
2) They were on the same CC as someone else that got banned
3) They sold gil, or farmed gil for those who sell it

While people may have an excuse for each of those reasons, fact is, that is specifically what the TOS says you can't do.

So your friend used your account and hacked, that's not SE's fuck up, that's your friend's.

So you pos/fleetooled/sent bad packets months ago but have been clean ever since, you still fucked up. Not SE.

So one of the other accounts you own hacked at some point in time and got banned, and by extension, you did too. Account trading/buying/sharing isn't supposed to be happening, anyways. You are responsible for any account on your CC. If you are buying an account, do so at your own risk because SE doesn't allow it. They're not going to excuse you because the previous owner hacked, not you.

So you farm gil and send it to big bank mules which then get sold to RMT companies who then sell the gil at a profit to players. That's still against the TOS, and you'll be banned for it... but chances are, if you fall in this category, you don't understand english all that well and are busy controlling 60 level 1 fishbots in Batallia and are too busy to be reading this thread.

While it may not seem fair to some people that they get banned, so far every case I've heard seems to be a case where SE is merely doing what they promised and enforcing the TOS. Being clean for the past 6 months, or buying another account that you personally haven't hacked on doesn't excuse you from the past.

My character is worth too much to get jacked by someone. Well hey, shit happens. Nothing I can do about it. Now I have time to actually play my Wii, 360 and my newly aquired PS3 (GTHD demo fucking rocks btw).

Normally I wouldn't feel as bad... but I have about 40 mil in gear that I borrowed from my bro's DRK (toreador's, sniper's +1, chram, etc.) to dick around with on PLD/NIN. :-/
