It's nearing April already, 9 months have gone by since ToAU came out, hope they seriously start releasing stuff soon.
Honestly, I think they didn't add missions into the last update because they needed a way to get people off of the asses and doing assault. Rank may end up to be important by the time we are done with this storyline, and if it is we can thank all of the quest slugs out there who have to be prodded to use content for the delay.

I'm pretty sure CoP came out a little earlier than that, like September 2004. Upon release, most of the mission-based content was available, all the way up to mission 6-2 I think. If I remember correctly, the expansion itself was "finished" in July 2005.

Although, if you want to count Apocalypse Nigh as part of the CoP storyline, that was released on December 2005.

As soon as I heard about Moblins in Halvung (when they announced the Trolls), I immediately thought there was going to be some Alexander/Odin face-off (since we already knew that Odin (or at least an Odin-like thingy) was going to be featured).

Slightly off-topic, but what I'm wondering is if the avatar legends are factual, or if they are just crocks. I'm leaning towards fake, since they were around at least at the same time of the Zilart (isn't it mentioned somewhere that they used the sleeping gods' power to heal Vana'diel?)

Also, if I recall, the Vizier also makes mention of a third puppet, "but it is not the time for that", or something. Is it Alexander? Something else?

On an unrelated note, I hope the Bastokan President sends someone to Aht Urhgan. This way we can have some Bush/Middle East references. <_< >_>

    EDIT:

I thought that was added February 2006 along with "Waking the Beast"?

It's going to be Cid and he's going to be key to restoring Alexander's power. Well maybe not key, but he'll give the idea needed to get things to work, just wait.

the are taj explored was the assault areas, 10 floors going up or down, all of them progressively darker with a candy at the end. Being that there is an assault area at the new staging point, that would be the section we go in. Interesting story, Im excited for it. We are probably entering alexanders 4 pillars and the assault point is his head. Would kinda make sense I think.

I knew when the Gordeus was mentioned.

lol I thought they already did that with Shantotto and the whole bioweapons and chimeras thing.

EDIT: You're right about Apocalypse Nigh. For some reason I thought it was contained in the same update as the Diabolos & Bahamut BCs.

I don't remember Nyzul getting darker, but I'm pretty sure he explored the Hazhalm Testing Grounds, which has ten floors connected by a long winding tunnel going ever downward into a huge near pitch-black room at the bottom. Maybe that's what you're thinking about.

could be, it was a while ago and we didnt have many names for areas back then, so it could have been modified since

Here's some of the info and pics I have on Hazhalm. I'm not sure if the guy who PM'd me this stuff still posts here or plays or w/e, but he probably won't mind me posting these now. This was ages ago, before Alzadaal was even released:

This place is HUGE. After the entry gate, there's a drop to a large open area with a few machine things, as seen in the first picture. Exploring further, I went into a tunnel which led me to another drop to another room, almost identical to the first. About 10 rooms later, I got to a dark room, with no exit, as seen in the last picture. This place looks like it has potential for ALOT of mobs.

Most likely the sky/sea of ToA. Remember when people thought Cave or Earth would be the name for the next spot? Well, this is as underground as it is going to get.

I've been saying that Alexander was going to be involved in this expansion since it first came out. Once more, no one believed me...
I think a bunch of us have been saying Alexander would be in it. Everything from the Gordeus to the Painting in the missions. We just haven't been sure where or how. This theory is pretty good, about Alexander being Nyzul Isle/Alzadaal Ruins.

I'm thinking the Empire is distracting the Beastmen with one AC while they look for the others. I'm sure controlling Alexander would be a powerful weapon against the Beastmen. That is, if the Ruins are him and the ACs power him and all.

Really looking forward to the rest of the story. Hopefully it keeps getting better.

5 Remants? Bhaflau, Silver Sea, Arrapago, Zhaylom. 5th is? Nyzul Isle has a huge Assault Area. What's the 5th?

He's probably suggesting that Nyzul Isle is the 5th Remnant. Which, I think the word "Remnant" implies that the site's corresponding Astral Candesence is gone, but we know Nyzul Isle's is intact.

EDIT: A more interesting question though... The Pathos of Alzadaal afflicts anyone running throught the Remnants. Imagine the hearty laugh SE would have at us players if they include the Pathos to afflict the Nyzul Isle assault area.

Sounds good, I never saw any pics or anything of that area until just now. It does look more like a Salvage area then an assault area imo.

KI thread was cool, would love to see Hazhalm now! I've been wondering about those tablets forever too.

edit: Even if Nyzul is a 5th. 4 Legs and a Body/Head for Alexander. Still works.

heh the way the story is going i wonder if the empire isn't evil in itself just because there was the Ephramadian kingdom that was destroyed by an attack from the empire which supposly is where arrapago reef is but it really doesn't say what the attack was about or why and it seem's that corsair in the blackcoat is out for revenge against the empire which inturn probably will have something to do with the darkrider facing off with alexander and why the search for the candy's is on.

Anyone else find it ironic that two leaders of the mighiest kingdoms in Vanadiel are a PUP and a DRG (King Ranperre)?

West Aht Urhgan/Al Zahbi and the Arrapago Islands are where the Kingdom of Ephramad was located. Arrapago Reef was the final bastion or something for Ephramad. It's safe to assume what we know as Al Zahbi now probably had more Ephramadian citizens and the Arrapago Islands (particularly the reef) probably had more pirates/corsairs.

One thing to note about Hazhalm, is that unlike any battlefield or Assault area, you can still /search it so long as you've entered it before, implying that it could the endgame area with chimera slaying madness, as opposed to the arcana and luminian/luminion overlord we got in Tu'Lia and Lumoria. Megomak mentions Lamiae, Merrows, puks, hydras, khimairas, mandragora and "many other" things being made there. I wouldn't be surprised if Hades-related stuff and ex-blue mages (flan and soulflayers) are also there.

EDIT: You're right about Apocalypse Nigh. For some reason I thought it was contained in the same update as the Diabolos & Bahamut BCs.
It might be because SE included a picture of Bahamut's face on the update thingy for February. I always get those 2 updates confused, I always think The Wyrmking Descends was added after Storms of Fate.

EDIT: Hmmm, there's another island on Mount Zhayolm. It could be background, but I doubt it. Maybe a mission where we go to it, click a ???, spawn a dahak NM or something, and then click on it again for a cutscene? It would be something SE never tried!

Plus the Star Sybil is jobless, and we have to kill the leaders of Jeuno. Also, the Orcish/Quadav/Yagudo/Mamool Ja/Troll/Lamia leaders are beat up on a regular basis. Not sure about Karst or whatever.

My theory: It's easier for the developers to re-use existing models than make new ones.

You don't think Limbus and Promyvion are connected do you?

When is the next teaser announcement for the upcoming patch due?
