Well, this topic has done a good job of getting me genuinely excited about the next update.
I find the Hazhalm stuff most interesting.
Being able to search the area is more significant than one'd think.
The various gates and structures in the area and the deepening darkness reminds me of one thing and one thing only:
Deep Dungeon.
Fighting a bunch of monsters in an area you can barely see in while moving closer and closer to an ungodly powerful being.
I don't think I'll speculate any further, but it could be a promising concept.
I love how your red mage is off staring at the Astral Plinth while you're quite clearly in the middle of killing shit.Originally Posted by Suiram

The "ruins" are obviously meant to move/change shape/do something besides sit there.
Nice, but Odin's got other reasons to be stalking around out here. Some of his charges are out and around and he wants them back.Originally Posted by Everlasting

On the topic of Candescences and their whereabouts, didn't Aphmau and Ovjang find a Candescence replica in Aydeewa? Or something like that ><
Yeah it was a "replica" or a piece of one, something like that. I forget how it's described in the game. I think Shanttoto wound up snaking it to return to jeuno with to inform the other nations.
The AC is actually the turning mechanism found "plugged into" the plinth. The glowing orb is the production of the astral wind from the plinth & AC together.Originally Posted by Zalius
Next time you get the CS of the AC being taken from Al Zhabi, note that the mechanism is missing from the plinth.
It was a piece of Olduum technology. Olduum technology is still more advanced than the current automaton technology.Originally Posted by Amadeo
Here's a shot of the first AC recovery on Phoenix Server, Arrapago Reef.
Notice the lit up part, it's also different from the other zones AC.

I'm willing to bet the one in the middle is Nyzul's, but I can't find my screenshots anywhere. Wish I remembered.

This is really interesting, could someone check if the Astral Plinths in each of the Beastmen territories match up with their respective remnants?
Edit: Nevermind, yes they do.
Edit edit: Whoever said that the Plinths in the Beastmen territories are probably the missing Plinths you see in Salvage is probably correct. So I wonder where Al Zahbi's is from?
Rocl pointed it out earlier that the Empire probably took the plinth and A.C. from Ephramad which would have been taken from Silver Sea Remnants. I think he's probably right.Originally Posted by Rocl
So just to summarize:
Arrapago Remnants corresponds to the Plinth in Arrapago Reef.
Silver Sea Remnants corresponds to the Plinth in Al Zahbi.
Zayholm Remnants corresponds to the Plinth in Mamook.
Bhaflau Remnants corresponds to the Plinth in Halvung.
and lastly Nyzul houses it's own Plinth, making it the only one remaining in it's original position in the ruins.
If I were to guess I'd say that Nyzul's A.C. is probably still intact on its plinth (AC doesnt show up in zone viewing programs). And perhaps the Alzaadal ruins' mechanisms can function off of an intact Plinth and AC (to supply the oil covering the windows etc.). Maybe removing all 5 plinths and their AC would "kill" the ruins, or at least stop it from functioning and allow aging and dilapidation to begin. If a second AC is on Nyzul's plinth that accounts for 2 (Al Zahbi's, and Nyzul). For the remaining 3, queue an NM fight on the 3 Engraved Tablet island's next mission update to make 5.
In his defense, all 3 mobs used 2Hs on first pull which we weren't expecting, and we wiped at the start and RRed; the last one was at like 1% with 1-2 min left when he took that screenshot. (You win the BC by clicking the Astral Plinth after defeating all 3 enemies.)Originally Posted by Taj
