wii is great and all but it won't satisfy all your gaming needs. a lot of people are still going 360+wii or ps3+wii. wii wins out in some categories, but wont in others. in no way will 360 be ahead at the end of the year and microsoft knows it.
That is one of the biggest and most annoying misconceptions I continue to see every day since the release of the PS3. What is so hard to understand about people wanting Sony to make the system WORTH the money spent on it? What the hell would I be saving up for besides unfufilled promises? I have a credit card if I really want that system, but I am not going to buy it "just because", sorry. The Wii keeps selling out, they've been producing a hell of a lot faster than Sony does since the systems initial release. Also, what are these "oh so good" games in Europe? (the ones that aren't ports)? I'm honestly curious. The Ps2 game playing is nice and all, but I still have my old PS2...Originally Posted by Nightstriker
That is also based on your opinion. You say there are a huge lack of good games for the Wii, but you know, from MY opinion (and apparently a lot of others, from the sales), it has at least 5 GOOD ones right now (vs MAYBE 2 from PS3, and at a fraction of the price), not including the (free) Wii Sports and the VC, which is JUST now starting to dig into their repetoire, there are literally HUNDREDS of titles they can(and probably will) release, and one of Nintendo's main issues in the past, online play, is already being addressed. The other, third party support, is still up in the air until some more games are revealed, but I already see who is getting major props from devs and who isn't even after a little reading. With huge franchise titles to fall back on that are ALREADY announced, like Mario Galaxy, Fire Emblem, Paper Mario, Kirby, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Metroid, SSBB, Pokemon, and even (unconfirmed) rumors of a Wii-only Zelda, plus some VERY interesting-looking exclusive "others", like the Dragon Quest series installment, FF: Crystal Bearers, Cooking Mama, No More Heroes, the Sims Wii, and a LOT of untitled games of various genres, I don't see exctly how the Wii is going to be losing all this ground I keep hearing about. It took a while for anything to come out for the Xbox360 too, I remember for a long time people weren't playing much besides Geometry Wars, and nintendo already has a few really good ones on and off the VC. It has stuff coming out for it this year too, a lot of stuff...like everyone ALWAYS seems to say for the PS3, give it a year, and we can see if the early sucess is just a fluke or not, but don't start digging it's grave while it's STILL selling out and the "first and second place winners" are sitting on shelves, that's just dumb.Originally Posted by Nightstriker

Oh wait! You can't use the wii controller with VC, lawl.make goldeneye available on VC, find a good way to let the wiimote/nunchuk work.

Yes you can.Originally Posted by BRP

LOL, do you read this board at all. Yes this board has a lot of Nintendo Fanboys, but granted it's a board of gamers whose common tie is a game on a PC or a Sony console, based ona series of games on Sony Consoles, and Wii has a good following. I honestly don't see how Wii can lose, every gamer I know is going the Wii+PS3or360 route.Originally Posted by Deuciont
This is a joke of a statement, the Dual shock design has been outdated since the N64 came out. The Alien hand taught us that analog control deservers the prime thumb resting location, and that vibration was the next thing for controlers. Yes there is a chance that PS3 will eventually get Vibration, but the digital pad will still be poorly locatedOriginally Posted by Deuciont
Lastly, I'm with BRP on the good games thing, 360 has a bunch of good games out. I'm not going to lie to you and say I'd buy a system for Dead Rising, but the combonation of Dead Rising, Rainbow Six:Vegas, GoW, Splinter Cell and Condemed and you've got something.
Call me a faggot but I liked PD:0 also, it really does play a lot like the original, it's just the original was like 8 years old at that point.
Yup, like in Mario Bros.Originally Posted by Kenai
Oh and as for the controllers, ATM it's 360 > Wii > PS3... I find the 360's analog locations to be really good in most games, and the Wii's a close second just because you have to actually work harder to do stuff.
The PS3 however is terrible... i'm surprised that Sony took the vibration out, when they were the first to implement it in the first place on the PSX.
Dude you need to chill out I never claimed anything as fact so yes it is my opinion, its obvious you love nintendo. I can run out and pull a big ass list of games coming out in 2007 for the PS3 but it wont matter to you so I am leave it alone. As far as the PS3 unfufilled promises let me give you console lesson 101. Most time when consoles talk about all the wonderful things they can do, they mean it over time. Alot of consoles rarely come out with guns blazing when they launch. HELL during the Wii development cycle they talked about having all this wonderful online multiplayer which has let to be delivered but I don't see you bitching about that nor have I seen nintendo even address it. Consoles take time to develop all there features and full potential if you don't understand that then its obvious you haven't been gaming very long. Second you out your god damn mind if you think Nintendo is producing units faster then Sony. On 1/21/2007 or whatever that weekend when stores actually got Wii's. They hadn't had shipments in a god damn month. Sony sends out weekly PS3 shipments, whether they sell or not. Also Nintendo has completely neglected there accessories and I find it odd no one is bitching about that.Originally Posted by Kenai
Lol, licking wounds I see. And yes, I LOVE my Nintendo Wii. I also LOVE my Ps2, and *maybe* very soon Xbox360 (Blue Dragon's prolly gonna do it for me) and my DS, as I loved my Dreamcast, PS, N64 and Super NES before them. And here, since I AM SO greateful to you for your little lesson I give you Common Sense 101: Everything that you just boasted about in defense of the PS3, I can say the exact thing for the Wii. But, here's the thing, the Wii didn't come out as a $600 paperweight, it came out as a $250 system with a *free game* and a handful of GOOD *launch* titles, and is STILL selling out in the middle of what is usually a post-holiday buyer freeze. PS3 has games coming out? Wii and 360 do too. Untapped potiential? Yup, all 3 have that. Time to develop everything? Yup, all 3 can do that too. The main difference is that the Wii is fast catching up to a system that has over a year head start of fanbase and games, even though it had faaar less hype (before release), and was the last to hit the market. Maybe it's the price? Maybe the games? Maybe the amount of games coming out? Online features? Dev support? All of the systems have certain perks that will be exclusive to only them, but the 360 and Wii have already proved themselves, unlike the lolPS3, and I will continue to be very critical and bitch at Sony every fucking day until they DO make it worth my dollar, because I want it to be.Dude you need to chill out, its obvious you love nintendo, I can run out and pull a big ass list of games coming out in 2007 for the PS3 but it wont matter to you so I am leave it alone. Edit: And yes, if you look at the actual numbers of units SHIPPED (not just sold, because we all know about that), PS3 still isn't anywhere near's Wii's numbers. And I DARE YOU to find a website with factual data ANYWHERE to prove me wrong. 8)

ummm no. the xbox360 controller is pefect. it has the best layout for a standard controller. pswhatever controller sucks seriously.
Can you try putting some reason behind that?
sure, #1 it's too large
#2 poor button layout
#3 poor button labeling
honestly, people are going to like one controller more, and everyone has their own preferences. however, more people prefer ps controllers to xbox controllers.
The only thing the Wii has proved is that nintendo can hold a game back a full year in order to sell a system and thats exactly what they did. The Wii hasn't really proved anything a handful of good games? What good games you talking about. All I can see is Zelda, all those other games are just ports or rental. The games it does have don't even use the Wiimote that well. So what we got here is a $250 system with Zelda, no online multiplayer support, a weak VC list, and some useless channels. If you think nintendo got this thing won already, I would say your wrong. And your right you can use all those points in the defense of the Wii but as it stands the PS3 potential goes farther. Also I will admit that PS3 has its problems but I will admit the Wii's problem too unlike you it seems.Originally Posted by Kenai
Are you serious? the 360 controller has the best layout out of the two (Wii is totally different so i'm not gonna acknowledge it here.) The PS controller is overused and redundant... I was actually looking forward for that weird looking controller for the PS3 when they released the first model at E3.Originally Posted by izembo
Dont forget poor button response the xbox/360 controllers buttons are all mushy like foam i always hated that. oh and playing fighting games on that controller is a nightmare or games that requires you press buttons continuously fast like shooting in DMC. Another thing is quality, PS controllers really last long time.
Plus something people forget is that the xbox controller is just a dreamcast and ps2 controller mixed together there is nothing original about it, they even stole the all analog buttons idea from sony and the dreamcast shape and triggers.
*starts fight* PS controller is nothing but SNES + 64 controller.
You can say that about everything... "Nintendo stole the Wiimote design from Sharp, because 10 years ago they had a tv remote that looked just like it!"Originally Posted by NeijiAsura
Please... the 360 controller is the one I like the most out of the three, when playing games that require many buttons like in GoW, I find it to be extremely comfortable.
Huh? since when did the Xbox controller had more buttons then PS2/3 controller? you get 2 analog sticks, 1 Dpad, 4 triggers (2 triggers first xbox and oddly placed white and black buttons that i hated using again useless for fighting games), 4 face buttons, 2 analog clicking buttons (that MS also stole from sony) and start select/back am i missing something?Originally Posted by Exoduso
Not going to argue, just correct what needs correcting:
1. Rumble was first used by the N64 when the rumble pak was released with Starfox 64.
2. The PS controller did not have analog sticks at first. It was a couple years later that the dual shock was released which included the Analog Sticks and Rumble. If they didn't release that, it is common knowledge that, for real 3d things, N64 would be better than the PSX, no competition.
