Does anyone still play this? Just curious, and if anything, use this thread to link up with any other players who DO and have fun.

Reason I ask is I found my old diablo 2 cd's in a drawer somewhere and was thinkin bout firing it up again.

I played this hardcore like 6 years ago. Still have LoD installed on my PC but haven't played it in a really long time. Blizzard killed the fun in the game with all their updates and stuff. 1.09b was the last time it was any fun.

At it's time and for a long while after it was the greatest game ever. But if your considering all PC and all console stuff now it's definitely taken a backseat. Especially if you take into consideration the bogus updates that have changed the game drastically.

I played all the time in 6th grade,after I had 2 99's I stopped played on closed and hacked on open :X Was so fun lol. Only reason I stopped was because I got FFXI

With this in mind, Diablo 2 is still one of the greatest games of all time. It's definately a classic. Diablo was teh WoW of the late 90s early 00s.

The graphics are so simple but at the same time fascinating.

There's just one bad thing with Diablo... it goes through mice really fast

Used to play this game like a fiend 3 99 HC chars on USEast (in addition to a handful of dead ones) on v1.09

Well with the popularity of Diablo's fan base, even with it being outdated, it would do them well to make a Diablo 3...wouldnt it?

I would also but seeing how sucessful WoW is now and since TBC came out..not going to happen. Although I was watching G4 the other day and the headlines at the bottom, for the feed, was talking about the Blizzard team geting together to possibly make another Diablo and/or Starcraft expansion god I hope thats true ; ;

Hell yeah, I'd quit FFXI in a heartbeat for this lol.

I don't think it's that impossible... I mean it's a MMORPG... Diablo 1 and Diablo 2's storyline will simply be ancient history...

They could fast foward 300 odd years until something else appears... Like Baal, out of a dimension that leads to another planet or something...
Or Baal has reached the heavens so they call up Adventurers to go kill...

Should run on the Half-Life2 graphics engine, and be 3rd person like Wow/FFXI.

Either World of Diablo, or Diablo III, anything is fine!! lol

Definately one of the greatest. No other game has the same replayability.

And once you start dabbling in mods? Oh the joy!

If anyone wants some mod suggestions just ask and I can provide mightily!

Single player from start to the end of hell is not only feasible but common, fun, and absurdly awesome with the right mod.

Ahh Diablo 2 brings back so much memories. If it wasn't for Blizzard ruining Diablo 2 with the 1.10 update I would have never started playing FFXI or atleast would have started alot later. I remember Blizzard releasing the 1.10 update sometime in Oct (not sure what year) played it for like a week and hated everything about so I quit and waited for FFXI to come out for PC which was like towards the end of Oct. I wish a Diablo 3 would come out already or atleast they could release some news about if they have it in the works.
