If they just add a way to outpost to Whitegate, I'd spend all my time in Bastok like I used to.

The way the story is progressing so far it seems like its not even halfway done, I doubt they'll finish the story till the summer or even later....as for the rest of the features, lets just say Im not getting my hopes up

I wonder if Aegis could be considered as CoP gear as well. You know, it was introduced after cop, and even require one fight in CoP area (almataia)
I'm not one to care too much about gear, I'm trying to think like everyone else for once ;x.
Update details will probably be up soon. Haven't the last few times the update announcements appeared after someone made a thread here asking wtf was up?
Perhaps if > 6 people in there auto-unlock abilities after say 60 minutes? I've never done Salvage so dunno if 60 is reasonable. Maybe they "forgot" to add that and it's how we beat the Chariots.Originally Posted by Amastacia

Seer's/Noct for other jobs is a good idea too, EX, buyable with some type of points?
Kill fish bots. GM's, just because a lv1 garbage name fisher responds to your /t doesn't mean it it's one person watching over 10 different bots. Program a trap similar to "u zoned too fast" somehow (u caught it way too fast?).
Surprise us with new ways for people to earn exp in the 40 to 70 level range solo or with a small PT. I have seen people on various servers mention it's hard getting a PT because the jobs aren't out there seeking, a friend mentioned it today too. I would assume it's not as bad 1-37 due to people both new and 75's leveling subs but after that until 70 I've seen more than a few 'looking for members' shouts in Whitegate. Hard to do pickup ENMs and the like...
Please change HNM and heavily camped NM's timers, see what happens.
Same thing happened last year... the Valentine event items were in the Decemeber patch .dats.Originally Posted by Gwynplaine

First real patch of '06 was week of February... Expect the same again this year.

This thread fails.
the update is gonna be feb 19th or 26th.
Why? Because that's both mondays that I do Dynamis on. They always plan it during my Dynamis runs ='(
hmmm
I agree about the Valentines items being in.. so chances are the update will probably be some time in late Feb, methinks. (theres also the thing about the paedotranny-cakes festival, isnt' that coming soon?)
ToA is severely behind schedule...
Things I think might happen in the next update based on whats been missing
1. Mission story extension. MORE BCs PLEASE.
2. Opening up a 'sky/sea' of ToA. They started the trend before so they'd probably continue it.
3. Introduce a popped NM system in accordance with the 'sky/sea' of ToA.
4. Implement Group 2 merits for ToA jobs
5. Implement AF+1, relic and relic+1 for ToA jobs
6. Add more mercenary ranks. Theres 4 more ranks left. I'm guessing that would include 3 more tiers of assaults with the final rank having no more assaults since theres no room for promotion.
Speculation:
Given the current resources available left in ToA, S-E has very left to work with in terms of a new 'end-game region'. If we are to speak of equivalents, Zilart had Tu'Lia and Promathia had Lumoria.
There aren't really any extra areas left for them to make an entirely new region, but they might be able to play around with what they've got.
I highly doubt that the 4 remnant areas were originally meant to be for Salvage but they'd converted it into that.. And since Alzadaal is still shrouded in much mystery in the mission story, theres a good chance a later part of the story will unlock access to a deeper part of Aldazaal.. and from the fact that it's the only region left in the ToA expansion where there are zones yet to be used or are underused, theres also a good chance Alzadaal will become the sky/sea of ToA.
My hypothesis.
Nyzul Isle was originally meant to be a staging point for assault but it's not been used, so instead of using it for future assault, they're going to convert it into a new zone. (they did the exact 'opposite' of this for Limbus. They converted lower promy and ou'phat obelisk for it)
If you look here http://www.ffxi-atlas.com/maps/nyzul-isle/general/at the Nyzul Isle map, there are lotsa places where they could stuff in new mobs that drop trigger items and the like, and places where theres room to put a ??? or whatever it is needed to pop the NMs. (Its not particularly expansive but would look pretty good imo... the last map would make for a nice, albeit small place for a showdown with a strong NM :D imo)
But it wouldn't seem right to bunch everything into 1 zone alone, so they could get trigger items to drop in Nyzul, and then place ???s in Aldazaal as well (esp in those weird empty rooms near the Remnants) so that people can play with NMs in there - in this way introducing a tier system.
(eg. various triggers in nyzul > 4 popped tier 1 in aldazaal undersea > 2 popped tier 2 in nyzul > super nm in nyzul last map)
In addition to this, theres a very convenient staging point that lets people gain access to the region and if this is once again a repeat of trends, both Sky/Sea are now extremely accessible zones once you meet the requirements - especially if you consider that Teleports are the most basic system of getting around anywhere in Vana'diel and staging points are the system in place for the Near East.
I don't know why im so interested in this happening, i just want them to make the popped NM structure for ToA happen soon.. as well as new monster types and the finale for ToA story. they need more mission BCs..
i think there's going to be an underground zone of aht'urhgan... if you check out walahra temple, theres a door thats locked, some people might think thats for a quest or mission or possibly a "final reward" CS for the missions... but if you check the area translations, there's a term for (Walahra Temple)... which if it's not a zone, that would be the first non-zone that they added which has a translation i think
Chamber of Passage, Hall of Binding, Commissions Agency.
Not true. As someone already pointed in this thread, "Chamber of Passage" is in the translator and that's just the room you pass through to use the portals.Originally Posted by Pergo

I mentioned non-zones being in auto-translate earlier in the thread. >_>
EDIT: Curses, foiled again!
aw damn, lol... well theres still a locked door!
IIRC, that's the exit from the Astral Candy's room if you end up locked inside post-Besieged. Never had to use it, so I dunno.
Still hoping we get to adventure in the Underworld. Going back and kicking the ass of the dead boss monsters you defeated before is classic FF.
Wouldn't be such a shocker if the ToAU sky/sea did have something to do with the undead. If I remember correctly most undead bosses in classic FF games were the "earth" crystal / element.Originally Posted by Kyreth
But then again it may not be, considering that the next progressive element endgame zone is "fire".
But the gear from that zone should be cool to see. If they do plan on making the game better with it, it would explain why Salvage gear is *almost* as good as Zilart gear ( generally speaking ), but not quite above it ( with a few exceptions ).

Philosophy of Wahlara.
and not to mention that the Gordius holds the secrets of life
CoP wasn't a total failure in terms of gear. Seer's, Raven (I love this set, made BST so much easier), Parade Gorget (even though it took forever to get the recipe for it), Limbus gear, AV gear, sea torques, various JSE pieces, Automaton Assault earrings, Heims Earring (Harvest Earring not so much).Originally Posted by Toth
I'm not sure if Soboro Sukehiro fits into CoP gear though, it is a fight in Riverne #B01 but I've never heard anything about this item until just recently.
Soboro Sukehiro is forged from win and quenched in lol. It manages to rival Hagun (which was also a CoP introduced item, and is likewise awesome).
Other good CoP items would be Forager's Mantle, Blau Dolch, Perseus's Harpe, Brutal Earring, Gorgets and Torques, Jailer Weapons (at least some of them) and the Swift Belt
