And i really enjoy playing with the people i play with. Fairly tight social group (never thought i'd make such good friends in an MMO) always on TS, and even gonna vacation w/ some of em :D.

For 2 and a half months but I kept vent on when I stayed home. I've been back for like 3 weeks now but I'm only typically on during the weekends.

Biggest thing for me is what Jhun posted. i do get frustrated when i cant make my own LS salvage, limbis, dynamis, but when i do get on if nothing other than stareing at my moogle spinning in circles n chatting on ls is enough to keep logging in.

I have my own spot in whitegate to sit on all the time unless there are HNM times, Tiamat, Khimaira or some limbis/dynamis/sea/sky events planned.
Pretty boring if you ask me but doing stuff with people you knew for more than 10 years in rl and 3 years ingame is the fun you get in ffxi.

I continue to play because of the people within my linkshell. I don't really play the game all that much because I work a lot, but I get on to talk to everyone and stuff. Lately, I've been leveling bard just to have something to do. Aside from shitty Valkurm parties, it's been fun. =P Too each their own.

The thing that kept me from quitting in september instead of december was that I didn't really know anyone who played WoW.

Quit and came back more times than I can count. (no exageration)

Never came back because I wanted to get new gear. (When you quit, after a while your character just becomes a sprite. Gear doesn't even enter the equation)

But there is something to be said about being reunited with friends you've known for almost 4 years. Talking on Vent or TS, joking around and sharing past stories of failure and success with each other.

Alot of people have played this game for so long, can you honestly say in 10 years from now you would have forgotten what "loldrg" or other terminolgy we as a community use on a daily basis meant or implied? I doubt it.

I can't seem to quit permanently because of the friends I've made, and because of the times we've been through together.

Most recently, I deleted my character for more than the 3rd time because a good chunk of my friends decided it was time to move on. When a big enough amount of people you value leave, there's really nothing left to achieve. For me it was always about either impressing a rival, helping a friend or proving something. Without the people factor, this game really is rather boring and tediouse
