The first thing you think of is the holocaust when you see a swastika.

Some people make a connection like that with the confederate flag., witch would be slavery. There are deeper core meanings to it then just slavery, but it's normally the thing you think of quickly on witch it get associated too.

Now the jewish kid taking this up is a big wtf, unless he a jewish black kid.

at least the first article actually showed the true confederate flag (or at least one of the official flags) and not the battle flag that you see everywhere.

As a white southern male, my opinion is...ban the damn thing. Anyone that wears it is at best showing latent racism, and at worst just wants the world to know how big a bigot they are. It's not about southern heritage; that argument is bullshit. If that were the case, then show the official flag instead of the battle flag. A true person that wanted to show off their southern heritage would study the south's rich tradition and celebrate its best parts, not its worst.

Quick fact: remember the big controversy about SC flying the battle flag over their statehouse, and how its defenders said it was up there to celebrate SC's tradition...they started flying it in 1963 as a big fuck you to the civil rights bills being debated/passed in congress at the time.

lol I rememebr going to this school for my sophmore year and honestly can't say don't expect this kinda stuff. That school was so lulzzz on education I slept through a buncha my classes not doing shit and still got a's; they're all hyped bout football and school spirit though .

As far as the stories go, it should be banned only because of the way people think about it, not because of what it actually stands for. If people were actually educated, they would understand that flag doesn't stand for slavery necessarily as much as it stands(stood) for state v federal mandates. I, personally, don't have any qualms with it, but most people do so I say banhammer
