Problem with Proboscis is that it's single target damage on tank only. I got hit on NIN for 30 damage, I lulz'd then I realized I was wearing a turban...and that got me scared.

It'd be so much more awesome if it was like...20' AoE, just gank the shit outta every mages within the radius.

That's so old school though. And any 75 RDM who dies from Convert while poisoned deserved to die anyway. Though it would still be highly entertaining if I saw someone else die that way. But a Convert-Probiscus death...I welcome that even for myself just for the giggles.

Speaking of Proboscis, I haven't done the Art of War quests yet (I did get 2/2 right on two of the beastmen so far, so only one to go), but I usually do those as RDM/NIN solo so I can play around with the NM and try different things to check its weaknesses. Would the Wamoura NM own me on RDM/NIN due to Proboscis?

I only soloed a few regular non-NM wamourae (I hereby declare this the plural form) as RDM/BLM when they were first patched into the game. This was when people were freaking out that the prince camp was ruined because these new bringers-of-doom had arrived.

I was able to kill them, but they were loooooooong fights that involved a good amount of resting for MP while the mob slept. Otherwise, it was a lot of Gravity, Bind, nuke, Sleep, Aspir, rest, rinse, repeat. I never tried straight up melee. Obviously get Sanction Refresh...it helps counter their sucking of MP just by being near them.

No clue on the NM. If you have space and do go /NIN, maybe bring a full set of mage gear in case you do need to fall back on sleep/nuke?

I more meant that, if Proboscis sucks away your MP then deals that much back to you in damage, would it take like 800 of my MP then spit in my face as 800 HP damage?

I'm pretty sure it deals 1:1 damage. However, it won't take that much MP. I remember doing them in a BLU pt when Exuviation was released, I'm pretty sure it drained about 200 MP (I think I was left with some MP in my pool) and did 200 Hp worth of damage. He has at least 1 AoE that wipes shadows from what I remember as well.

Me(BLM) / Aurik(BLM) / Eliise(SMN), decided to go fight Dahaks for shits and giggles, one dahak was being an extremely resistant twat, half dmg from nukes, etc, so eliise had time to stick up all these buffs on us, and stuck fenrir's buffs (8 stats boosted) including diabolos's buffs(2 MaB/MdB), pro/shell/stoneskin/blink/reraise(5 buffs).

For those of you who don't know, nullsong does 100 dmg or so per buff you have up, He used nullsong when I had 15 buffs up >_> Only me and eliise had those buffs, aurik lived and ended up killing that last 5%, lol.

Also, nullsong destroys reraise before killing you, so you pretty much have to homepoint.
