Dear SE.
Make a 3D version of FF6, and make this battle more epic.

(I want poster of this :3)
mmm, Celes.
I guess no announcement lol... unless they'll make it later tonight (jp time, it's like 2pm now I believe.)
Ff8 was my first FF also >I definitely loved it, never finished it tho. I have a bad habit of working all the way til the final boss then quitting. I need to finish that someday :\
Then I played FF7, FFT, FFT:Advance. liked 'em all ;x haven't played any others besides FF6 a tiny bit on emulator.
playing FFV tho for GBA. Definitely not omgawesome but still interesting.
FF8 was what got me into the series as well, heh... but I haven't played the originals (anything before 7) until a few years ago when they were released for the PSX.... I did go back and do 7, and from there I kept going in order.
This was such an epic battle(except that Kefka was a complete pussy), you ever hear the Black Mages remake of Dancing Mad? <3Originally Posted by MikedeeFenrir

Haha good to know I'm not the only one. I don't know why I do it to be honest, but that's always the point I stop.Originally Posted by Zhais

I'm guilty of that too, mainly because it sucks to finish a game you played so long/hard for.Originally Posted by Exoduso
And final bosses are usually pussies.
But um, you can just save before the final boss and then fight it?
Just so you see the ending of the story? idk, feels weird to me but whatever.
Asking for/wanting/liking remakes of old games makes me feel weird too but different people different preferences.Originally Posted by Exoduso
Oh yah, and to contribute to the sub topic, FFVA is awesome and is definitely my favourite FF so far. I just love teh job system.
Heh... it would just be fun to replay these great games with voice overs and better graphics... would be more soothing for the eyes and ears.
Seriously though, you never think about beating the final bosses just to see how the story unveils?
I stopped playing right before beating FF8 because I fucking hated the game. My hatred for it grew as every extra boss thing in the final castle was too hard to beat and being at a point of no return in the game (I FUCKING HATE THAT) I just stopped playing. I went back a year later just so I can say I beat it, and 'lol'd at the ending but was not surprised, given my general apathy towards the whole storyline.
P.S. Fuck RPGs that restrict access to going back to all or a lot of the old towns and whatnot right before the ending of the game. I'm looking at you, FF8 and FF9.
In FF9 you can return for the most part.... you just have to leave the final dungeon.Originally Posted by miokomioko
In FF8 it's the whole CD4 and I agree, it kind of sucks but it makes sense storyline-wise.
I could have sworn that roots of the big Lifa Tree, or whatever it was called, surfaced and blocked entrance to like 50% of the towns on the last disc or so (not to mention most towns in the game get completely fucked).Originally Posted by Exoduso
They did. You could only go back in major town, and certain dungeon. However, simply having a few town left with people and minigame is enough to give people the feeling the world is still "open". Ff8 literally blocked you of everything, subquest included, well, some of them at leastOriginally Posted by miokomioko
Problem I think is the long CG ending that eat most of the space. Kinda stupid, but meh. I wouldnt mind swapping CD if it's the problem
They've remade I-VI. Why do you think they'd stop at VI?Originally Posted by Kaylia
And each time, it's been an improvement- heck, I'm still happily plugging through the extra dungeons in V and the localization on it was a blast.
VII done with PS3/Xbox/Wii level graphics and the like would be a nice dose of retro gaming made modern. I'd draw the line around IX as the last legitimate "remake" they could do, and VIII really should be.
I liked the draw system ;-; I liked the materia system and I liked the job class system. All the others are just 'bland'.
To be fair, FF1-3 are the only games they've really remade, that is, significantly improved the graphics over the original. FF3 was the biggest upgrade by far of the bunch too.Originally Posted by Kyreth
For FF4-6, its more of a port with new localizations, and added bonuses.
That being said, I'd be happy just having a port of FF7 somewhere, but I want a remake of FF8, and I would love it if FF6 would've gotten the FF3 DS treatment, but alas, maybe in the future.
The basic concept of the draw system was cool, the problem was w/ junctioning. Since the # of spells you had affected the strength of the junction benefit, you really couldn't go around casting magic at will.Originally Posted by SephirothYuyX
Not to mention some spells were super rare to find, and you weren't going to EVER cast a spell that you'd only see 3-4 times in the entire game.
I just loved the story in FF8 the most out of all the FF series, Laguna brought me close to tears in the ending FMV.
