If Salvage is a fucking mini-game, I had to see how hardcore the "mega games" are gonna be.

once the bulk of the Aht Urghan data has been implemented, we hope to go back and begin tweaking with older areas.

Salvage was a mini-game and doesn't meant to be part of the endgame content of this expansion.
I just hope that I haven't been wasting my time and sanity in salvage to have an Ares's Cuirass +1 like object released in the "endgame" patch in the next few weeks / whenever.

Also, if the difficulty / reward table scales as it did in Salvage, and we are assuming that the new endgame items are going to rival, at least to some degree, those of the Aery, (I extrapolated this from the translation, could be wrong) then I am expecting ToAU endgame to be very difficult indeed.

Just pray that it isn't like CoP's drop rate in sea.

Honestly, if they found a way to completely prevent Windower so that it was not possible for Windower to ever exist, I would be able to live with that if they would just implement a fucking hardware-accelerated 3d engine.

Even if SE allowed the game to play nomrally in a window I'd still use windower because 6 macro lines in a game that has 16 equipment slots and is jam-packed with situational gear is retarded.

Salvage is to ToAU as Limbus is to CoP, perhaps?

Only difference is Limbus came out after Sea was finished, whereas Salvage came out before?

And limbus was totally mapped out & farmed within 2 month; salvage is 1.5 months old and we still haven't seen a single fully upgraded item.

That crown better not be the ultimate reward to ToAU. Are they realistically going to make something better than Walahra Turban for either tanking or DD jobs? Give us another ring so I don't have to get a Defending Ring to have a second useful ring for tanking. I guess a neck piece would be nice too.

Accessory pieces which you can equip more than one without affecting performance (aka, Rings and Earrings) are best. 9/10 there's always something better for single slot items than what are provided as rewards. Between RoZ earrings (DM and AN) and Ancient Beastcoin earrings, I think most people are complete. But something to go with the CoP Rings would be a nice touch.

But considering the Wal-mart Turban and how many people wear that ugly thing, if it had good enough stats, you'd see a lot of people wearing the crown around and looking like morons. o.ob

I think "mini-game" might be an instance of translation or simply pure definition.

    Base+RoZ (NA Release) - Mini-Game: Dynamis / End-Game: Sky

    CoP - Mini-Game: Limbus / End-Game: Sea

    ToAU - Mini-Game: Assault-->Salvage / End-Game: <TBD>

Essentially I take the word "mini-game" in more literal sense. Each of those three events is a self contained "game" with a distinctive start and end with its own victory conditions and rewards. Each "mini-game" is a sub-game of the MMO and has restrictions based on when and how many times you can play. Each has specialized rules and special conditions and goals that make it more like a "mini-game".

Whereas "End-Game Areas" are just that. Permanent zones within the game that may be freely travelled to without restriction and contain all standard elements that are part of the normal game.

At first I had the same reaction as most people. The word "mini-game" usually implys that its "easy", but this is really not a requirement. If anything, the length of time allowed in each "mini-game" zone is reason enough that they may describe these as "mini-games" or at the very least, a phrase that translates to "mini-game".

Anyway, I'm in no way presuming the new endgame area will be some "hardcore" zone as Divisor puts it. It may very well end up being one, but then again, it may just be another Sea or Sky. Hopefully with no more "AV's".

I hope this totally means going back and making sky way more accessible making everything up there popped VIA pop items. I hope this means doing away with timed spawned NM's that make it so easy for RMT to cockblock.

I always wonder why this wasent done long ago when SE decided to make it take -124,000 exp to attain 75? SE should have also done something to kings, last nid had 150+ people waiting for it, the game totally starts breaking down with that many people in a small area. The population has grown so much yet the end game was never adjusted enough to balance anything.

People make an announcement when they're quitting, very few make an announcement that they're starting.

Personally, some of the ??? items from assault are the real gems so far for CoP. Especially since Assault is geared at small groups of friends rather than large groups of people that tolerate each other only because they need each other to finish the mini-game.

As a side note the STFU has been pretty effective on Alexander, the biggest of the botting linkshells is now loosing a really big chunk of claims mostly b/c their leaders are too scared to bot and risk their shinies, and the new membership (which used to be forced to bot by the leadership) understands that they're really being asked to risk their characters for the benefit of others.

Maybe it's time to dust off warrior and beastmaster (IMO only warrior and beastmaster can really benefit from huge amounts of ground-HNM camping) since a semi-legit linkshell might stand a chance now.
