Back on topic I'm a huge OSU football fan which somewhat carries over to basketball but my real favorite is Xavier because I graduated high school with Justin Doellman and he is a badass. To bad they can't seem to play their best every night and lose to mediocre teams every couple games.

I've been a diehard fan since I was 10. Been to many big games - Comeback vs Wake in 91, vs FSU in 93, Dean Smith's final win in 97, and UNC comeback vs Dook in 05 (my last home game as senior).

Great team this year, they just struggle to focus and play hard some time, like vs. State. If it happens during the tourney all our talent is for naught.

As for *Dook tomorrow night, we won't win by 20. We should win though.

PS. I was just admitted to UNC MBA program, f yea.

Duke '05 here...the Duke/UNC game at Cameron that year was just so fucking unbelievable. It was the only UNC game I camped for (figure you have to do it once), and it was just so fucking awesome to watch. Great game, back and forth throughout. We (the crazies) never let up the entire game (hell, not a single person sat down during halftime), and I've never been in a more electric crowd when Felton had the ball down one with 16 seconds left. I was hoarse from screaming those last 16 seconds, and Felton for some reason just fucked up. God damn that was by far the best experience of my life so far.

Totally agree about tomorrow being what college sports is all about. It's not like Duke/Maryland, where Maryland is just uncouth and undeserving of my attention, let alone my hate. I, and every other Duke student/alumni have great respect for the program UNC built. They did it like we did it: by the rules and with class. That's also why we hate you so much, and why Tobacco Road is the hotbed of college hoops. My house is divided between State, UNC and Duke, and any game involving 2 of those teams elicits so much shit talking it's not funny.

Was just joking about Durant. No one can really stop him but himself. He'll get player of the year if he takes Texas deep into March, but he isn't much of a team player. Needs more meat on his body before he'll be a force in the NBA. IMO, Law makes the team look better than Durant does.

I agree with you their. Law does seem like more of a complete player. Durant is kind of a happy go lucky kid with fucking ridiculous talent. The sad thing is he will probably leave for the NBA after this year and not do anything there for ~3 years. If he played 1 more year at Texas and bulked up, he could be an immediate force after 1 year instead of 3.

Great game last night, everything that rivalry is about showcased in one game. We did outlast Dook but I was impressed by the amount of heart that the Dook players showed, especially Scheyer, that kid did not want to give up. Good luck at Maryland on Saturday and we will see you in Chapel Hill.

3-0 vs. Duke & UNC combined... first team to win at Cameron Indoor and the Dean Dome in the same season since GT in 95-96.

Senior guards usually = strong team and deep run in the NCAA.

If they were to win out AND go to the ACC semis (which I don't think they will) I think they could cap out as a 3 seed. Their RPI is pretty good and that would hopefully offset a couple of curious OOC losses earlier in the year.

However, realistically they'll be a 4-5 seed.

Assuming they don't lose in the first round of the ACC tourney, Duke will be a 3 seed. They lost 1 OOC game, to Marquette with an injured Palus. They're #10 RPI, #4 SOS, and have 11+ top 100 RPI wins.

I personally hate hate hate looking at the RPI. The RPI is almost as stupid as the BCS is at figuring things out. Michigan State's coach explained it well yesterday.

Basically a #50 Team can lose to a #55 Team in the RPI and drop around 3 or 4 spots, while if that same #50 team lost to a #1 or 2 team in the RPI, they could move up possibly to the low 40s. It's just a silly system. I don't think you can truly understand how good a team is unless you actually watch it. If certain teams were voted in to the field of 64 by JUST numbers alone/RPI, god.. that would so suck, lol. Personal opinion of course.

On the note of Duke, I see them as maybe a 4. Dunno, just not real strong this year seeing as how young they are. Wonder what's gonna happen to Florida? Still a #1 seed? I say if they put them at #2, it's just going to fire them up more, heh.

Duke definitely won't be a 4 seed. Probably closer to 6 or 7. They've been good, but not a great team like they usually are.

It seems like everyone is ignoring UCLA again. I'm hoping for another good run for them this year.
