Signing up for "My Xbox" (on a computer)

Ok now granted I feel really stupid, but I have tried to do this countless times and just cannot figure out how.
When I go to the site it asks me to sign in with an email address and password, but I never remember entering in any email address and/or password in my 360, would there be a place to find this?
So then when I go on the site to just register for it it asks me to enter a gamertag, and a gamer zone, gamer pic, etc. But that is not what I want to do. I have my 360 Gamercard profile already and I just want to transfer it to be able to access it on the computer.
So when I enter my Gamertag on the registration screen it says that is already used (obviously since I have it), so that is not how I do it either.
Hopefully I am not rambling too much, but I want to figure this out so I can send messages while at work through XBL.
    Thanks guys.

Reading what you are saying, but even if you were able to get My Xbox to work, I'm not sure you can even do what you are wanting to be able to. As for logging in with a password and email, I think it would be the password you used when you set up your account/billing. Such as the email you get MS point purchase confirmations sent to.

I know that you will be able to log into Xbox LIVE on your PC to play games and send LIVE messages later this year when Microsoft launches Xbox LIVE anywhere. As for now though, I think you just have a little gamer card for posting on forums etc showing your tag games and score. I can try and see if I am right about this though, let me check on it and I'll post back.

Edit: Okay, found out that Microsoft changed the name of LIVE anywhere to LIVE for Windows. It was supposed to launch with Windows Vista in a limited capacity. It will allow people to have access to their LIVE accounts on the PC, and certain devices such as cell phones. You will be able to download games, play them, and have access to your LIVE friend list and LIVE message center. I hope this helps.

Yea I know it allows you to do all of that. Major Nelson always talks about it, and that is also the only way to check other people's gamer cards and post on the forums, etc.
But when I enter the email and password from my billing info it just takes me to the set up your gamercard screen which doesn't make any sense

Well then that really is odd. Sorry I dunno what else you can do other than try emailing or calling their customer support.
