I was actually quite happy with last nights ep. Thought that it was kinda what we needed. We really don't get many lame filler episodes here (unlike in a show like BSG where you get WAY too many filler episodes) in Lost so i didn't mind it at all.
Sawyer was hilarious.
I'm not the only person. Lost is losing viewers left and right.Originally Posted by Kaylia
The problem with Lost is that it's ALL filler episodes. The entire show is a fucking filler episode. Nothing happens. The past two weeks literally NOTHING has happened to the majority of the cast except a car magically working.Originally Posted by Graelinn
It's just becoming a thing where I don't give a fuck about anyone on the cast anymore. I couldn't care less about Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Locke, Claire, any of them. I think that's why I hate this show now. I'm not attached to any of the characters because they're all boring and stupid and their backstories don't add anything to the show.
Total rant, but I'm sick of nothing happening. Next week doesn't even look good. The whole Alex thing was SO predictable it's retarded. As soon as Kate went into the jungle I knew she was going to that dumb French woman to tell her about Alex.
I don't know. I'll give it another week and then I'm done. It's just boring.

I personally think Locke, Sawyer and Jack are three really awesome characters, but the show has been in filler-mode a long time now. The notable exception, imo, was the entire Desmond episode, which was kind of confusing to watch at the time, but in retrospect really owned.
They don't show enough of Sayid. The guy kicks ass.Originally Posted by Xavier
Sayid is getting his Desmond"esque" episode in a few weeks, just as Locke will (will tell about how he became paralyzed)
I enjoyed the episode to a degree, Sawyer owned with the 3 things always say to woman, Huggo had his time to shine, but the van/old beer thing was a little too far fetched
When I saw the VW Bus I was like Oh Shi- Little Miss Lost Shine
(Was really hoping somehow NBC/ABC joined together and add The Office crew onto LOST for shits n' giggles and it would become/fuse into a really superb show)[It could happen cause they writers are that fucked up to do it]
Just watched episode 10, and it was hilarious! I burst out of laugh at several times, this show is just great, Hugo is great and funny, Sawyer is my hero.
I dunno what people want to happen in Lost seriously... The hell you talking about filler episodes? Do you want Lost to become like 24? Do you want so every single episode to be full of revelations, so that after 6 episodes, the story doesn't match at all with how it started...? I got nothing again 24, it's my second best show, but nowadays, 24 is just all about actions and Kiefer killing people. Lost is about a story of lost passengers on a mysterious island. You don't like the show? Go watch something else, there are a lot of shows running every week.
Lost Season 3 is just perfect for me, as of now. It's funny, has good character stories, still a lot of good mysteries to uncover.

How is it frustrating? The season so far is just as awesome as the show has always been. Because people always want more and more, good shows like 24 end up with non sense stories...Originally Posted by Norelco
I really hope you aren't calling Lost's story reasonable, lol. Lost has a far more non-sense story than 24. People just want the non-sense story flushed out more instead of basically nothing happening each episode.Originally Posted by Lylie
I think the perfect example is the Desmond episode vs. the Car one. The Desmond episode explained a ton of stuff, was interesting to watch, well acted, thought-provoking etc, and really added to the island's story.
The last episode really didn't accomplish much, save adding some humor and flushing out Hurley's background, which imo, hasn't been very interesting since his crazy girlfriend died. I liked both episodes, and the last was def. flashy, but like I said, as far as the actual story progression goes, not much happened.
I'm looking forward to tonight though, it looks like there might actually be an advancement of plot.
Was finally able to watch last weeks episode last night, and after not reading or seeing anything about it, I actually enjoyed last nights episode. In the fact that it gave some insight into the island more, and the fact that Hurley's past has had as much emotional ups and downs as everyone elses. I do sort of agree that it was a filler but still; it allowed for us to see some happiness with them. I'm excited about tonight, I'm hoping the preview from last weeks is what they say it will be with them actually having the things and them going to try and get Jack back.
Sayid and Locke going in kicking some ass, taking names and fucking shit up. Thats what I want to see, action and adventure. As far as losing viewers, no I don't think so, the story is still progressing and they have a ton of story they can work in here and there.
Glad you like shows where nothing happens week to week. Lost is lost, and needs to take its stupid inconceivable car/van and find its way back.Originally Posted by Lylie

Sawyer still doesn't fail to make me laugh.
Here's an example of my frustration...and maybe it's more of a complaint against the ABC marketing team than it is the producers of the show, but...
They need to get their act together in terms of their previews and their advertising. Don't tell me that 3 HUGE secrets are going to be revealed in a commercial and then reveal NONE when the show finally airs. Don't show me previews that have Sayid and Locke blowing shit up and then show me an actionless episode about Desmond. I mean, come on, I wouldn't have been as disappointed if they showed previews about Desmond, but they showed previews for an episode that hasn't even taken place yet for an unrelated one. Give me a break.
They've opened up too many subplots to ever be tied together, and the main plot is so montrous it may spiral the show out of control. What happened to Penny tracking down Desmond? What the hell is the black smoke on the island? What exactly is the Dharma Initiative? Why are all of these people inter-connected? Is it planned or is it all coincidence? What's the disease on the island the Others supposedly have a vaccine for? I could go on and on.
This show is written about the same production team as Alias. I haven't seen Alias, but I have friends who were into that show from the beginning, and into Lost, and they explained that Alias started off just as awesome as Lost did, but that the writing team fucked thigns up by opening up too many subplots and never really finishing ANY of them. And that's why the show ended. The writers wrote themselves into a corner, and now I see this happening to Lost.
Want to keep viewers happy? If you say you're going to do something. Do it. Don't come up with bullshit previews that have NOTHING to do with the next episode. Tie up some plot lines. Answer questions. People are getting tired of it already.
Eh, I thought this was a decent episode. It just felt weird, but maybe it's just me. Although, it was cool to see Sayid again.
Hopefully they have learned from their past mistakes. They have the deadline already set, for when they are going to end the series (100 episodes, I think, is their goal). So, this should give the writers more freedom as to wrapping things up, and not being pressured by ABC to keep the series running. I remember reading that the creators want to avoid "the X-Files" syndrome of dragging things on too far. This show is written about the same production team as Alias. I thought tonight was a pretty good episode, dunno, didn't really have any complaints.
whoops I fell asleep right before the episode
