Reformatting computer, don't want to update FFXI/POL again

I remember this being asked before, and I THINK I remember it being possible but I'm not entirely sure of how to do it (tried searching for the topic but couldn't find it). I'm going to reformat my computer pretty soon here and I don't want to go through the hassle of updating FFXI/POL again on my bad connection. Is it possible to back up the updates, and if so, how would I go about doing that?

    Thanks

Save all the ROM folders. Reinnstall FFXI, then drag the folders back in. Youll have to do a file check when you first boot up, but you wont have to redownload anything.

45mins/1hr file check + download vs 10 min file check....

Also backing up only the ROMs will backup FFXI only though so if you want POL viewer to be backed up too then you'll have to back up the other stuff... I think.

EDIT: Lol, your physical location is the same as mine Gafgarion.

Usually i save the whole PlayOnline map and overwrite my new install with it to get my macros back as well.

You can also use a little program that's called MogToolz, you can find this one in the Windower forums i think. It's no cheat or 3rd party program since it works totally outside of the game.

All it does is save a few game tweaks to switch between modes faster if you have lag troubles in Dynamis and such. If you save your setup before formatting, you can restore all this in 1 click after reinstalling and you're saving 5 more minutes. 8)

Hopefully you have windows and all your games on different partitions...
