Meh, dunno how the waxing/waning moon thingy works... english isn't my first language, so I dunno what they're called >.>
what I ment was wheither the moon was getting larger or smaller, as there's 2 different 50% moons. One where its getting larger, and one where its getting smaller.
Just a sample from two of them, but
86% Iceday, it pops west side
76% Iceday, it pops west side
One is waning, the other waxing. So that doesn't seem to be a factor.
Being above or below 50% could potentially make a difference for any given day, based on the list so far, but we'd need more data before we can make that assumption.
In the meantime, however, it wouldn't hurt to choose your route based on the following speculated conditions and post the results, to confirm or deny:
(the ones in dark red have no data to say one way or another and so are pure guesses)
Firesday
>50% go east
<50% go west
Earthsday
>50% go west
<50% go east
Watersday
>50% go east
<50% go west
Windsday
>50% go east
<50% go west
Iceday
>50% go west
<50% go east
Lightningsday
>50% go west
<50% go east
Lightsday
>50% go west
<50% go east
Darksday
>50% go east
<50% go west
waterday 14% pop sw
Nice, that coincides with my guess of what Watersday would be. Now we just need to see if Lightsday and Darksday work out the way I think, too. lolOriginally Posted by Myria
Also, anyone else do any runs to disprove any of this so far?
Windsday, 18:05
First Quarter Moon (45%)
West, no pop
iceday 48%, west, no pop.
Earthsday was wrong based on what people posted on the first page lol.Originally Posted by Khamsin
Yeah, I think Safer took back this statement:
earthsday 12% waxing cresent
west side madbomber up in the southwest room
Now, this throws it off since we have Windsday 45% (<50%) showing no pop on west, as well as a Windsday 75% (>50%) showing no pop.Originally Posted by Keider
So, unless a mistaken day in there, it could be broken up into quarters instead of halves.
e.g. 0%-25% for a particular day points in one direction (NW, NE, SW, SE), with 25%-50%, 50-75%, and 75-100% all pointing to different rooms.
Something like this:
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2.../crudemoon.gif (yay paint)
Where the colored dots mark the new moon orientation for that day, with the moon increasing clockwise, and the resulting direction points toward the room. e.g. someone said Iceday 19% there was no pop on the west side, suggesting it would have popped on the east side. If you look at the chart, the Iceday dot is pointing due north, indicating 0% in that direction. Going clockwise, 19% would point to the NE, so maybe it would have popped in the NE room.
Someone else said Iceday 76% it popped on the west side (but didn't mention which room). Continuing clockwise around the circle, with Iceday 0% being due north, 76% would point to the NW. Someone else stated that Iceday 86% it popped in the NW room. 86% would also point to the NW.
Now, with what limited data we have, such a chart matches what we know at this point in time, but as more people report in, it may again disprove it or suggest that it may actually be broken into all eight distinct phases (waxing and waning) rather than just 4, just as we went from 2 to 4 sections due to the conflicting Windsday reports.
Please also say which room it popped in (e.g. NW, SW) rather than just the side, as well as whether the moon was waxing or waning.
Or, it could be random!Originally Posted by Khamsin

Call it an empirical formula, I guess.
windsday 98% waning, west side, no pop
Firesday, 4:12
Waning Gibbous (86%)
West, no pop
Fireday, 29%
Pop West
Forgot the exact room though, I think it was the NE room.
Was that on the west side? And which room (NW, SW, NE, SE)?Originally Posted by Zilong
72% moon wind

west side
Watersday, 13:41
Full Moon (90%)
West path, Mad Bomber in NE Room (G-8)
Earthday 88% No Pop
edit: west side
Windsday 93% Full Moon (waxing)
West side, popped in SW room.
