One thing I forgot to do was steal Ragnarok and Ultima Weapon from the 3rd stage in the final battle, I'm going to retry it today and see if the loot stays on the clear game save. *prays* xD

yea, i got the shield on edgar and a ribbon equipped so he isn't rendered completely useless. My initial 4 of Celes, Edgar, Sabin and Setzer are pretty well pimped out now with only Setzer missing spells out of my current espers, so as soon as this shield is uncursed, off to get the remaining 3 espers. Then I'll begin pimping the rest of my crew out.

Going to tackle Dragon's Den later on after I do all my homework. Beat the game last night, stole another Ragnarok and another Ultima, so now I have 2 Lightbringers. Now time to bet all these extra Air Anchors to get more Zephyr Capes.

I just ordered FFV Advance from Amazon. Is the game fun? How does it rate against IV and VI?

It's the same thing as ff5 normal..?

if you never played it, the story is a little weaker than both of them, but it makes up for it in kickass gameplay and awesome job system.

FFV Advance is fucking hard. Sadly, I had to turn on cheats for the majority of it. It kind of sucks unless you really want to spend 5+ hours leveling up characters to about ~15 levels above what you 'should' be.

It has a job system making it somewhat more unique compared to other Final Fantasy games, you only have 4 characters though.

I tend to like VI and IV a little more than V, but V is still a great game.

I never had the patience to finish FFV, IV is still my favorite out of all the pre-FF7 ones. (only one I beat though heh.)

    Agreed.
    IV > VI >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>... V
But meh, I am probably biased, I never was a big fan of "switch the jobs" offline FF's, I like being given the characters with a job (Cecil - pld, Kain - loldrg, Edge - nin), etc. It adds more to the overall experience I think, insofar as the story goes.
See: Cecil changing from drk to pld which was a big story component.

Extra dungeons in V are crappy & boring. For the record, I like the gameplay in 5 better than 6 (but 6 obviously wins for best storyline).

I found ff5 really really easy, but then I've played it through a number of times so I know what skills to get and which to leave. All you have to do is get everyone martial arts and you can barehand melee almost everything to death until the 2nd world lol.

    >_> I had almost every job available at like max/1-2 levels under max by the time the second world came around and I still got raped every single boss in FFV -.-

Oh I dunno, after you've got the best stuff available at said point and are almost maxed job level and you still die 5+ times?

Only shit like omega and shinryu (and their v2s) even made me tailor my gear/jobs for the encounters :X Entire first world was done with the healing staff, some potions, and people subbing martial arts. Tho Garula almost killed me because he's got 100% counterattack rate lol.

I agree with your point of tying down jobs to characters to improve the storyline, makes them feel more genuine, however FF4 was boring for me. Though my playthrough of 6 was limited (only got up to the haunted train), I found that one much better than my playthrough of 4.

Yea I know, 4 and 6 are interchangeable in terms of people's popularity, but I just personally prefer 4 to 6. I really like the characters, and the whole twist with Kain going back and forth between good and bad is such a good additional story feature. But 4 and 6 are both great games and I think superior to the current offering.

I loved FF8, but the thing was, other than the relationship thingy (for summon timer) if you took a GF and junctions off one character and put it on another you essentailly changed the skin of what you were controlling, and I always hated that about that game.

Just got this game. I've beaten the original many many times. Infact I still have the SNES cartridge. I just finished Lockes solo scenario and was dissapointed to see Celes didnt get beat in this version >

Looking forward to the new additions to the game.
