Just make a team of 4, leave the rest of the losers in the back. Make sure your team has Celes so you can Runic Kefka.

The difficulty in this game is hilariously easy. Youll be fine. Most of the enemy groups will die before they can even damage you.Originally Posted by HAcoreRD
In this fight I always separate Sabin and Edgar out into two parties, because each of them can wipe out the entire enemy groups with Rising Phoenix and Bioblaster respectively. Add a healer to each (Terra/Celes). Round out a third slot with a physical attacker for anything that's still alive after Sabin/Edgar do their thing (Locke/Cyan).Originally Posted by HAcoreRD
I tend to leave Gau near Banon, and make sure he has the Stray Cat Rage, Gigas Glove (Increases physical damage) and Hermes Sandals (Auto Haste).
None of my bestiary entries say anything about the last boss having genji gloves to steal. It's all elixirs, Ragnarok, Ultima Weapon, and a Megalixir from Kefka.
Oh, but hey. If you burn levels on the Tyrannotaurs in the forest north of the veldt for a long time like I have, they drop Impartisans. Bet Impartisans for Cathoods, and get Merits awards. :D I have 8 now.
Don't forget about Economizers(Star something in the GBA version) that drop off of Brontotaurs too :DOriginally Posted by Huggo
Also, with imp armor and the impartisan you can make a sick fighter if you cast Imp on them!
You can steal ribbons from brontotaurs as well. The economizers are a really rare drop, but getting those ribbons is simple if Locke's level is high enough and you have the thief bracers. I can't remember the stealing formula, but I think it's something likeOriginally Posted by Auspice
Steal success % = Locke's level - Enemy's level. +50 (if not +50 it's minus 50) and that end solution is multiplied by 2 if you have a thief's bracer. I just try to make sure Locke's level is at least close to the enemy carrying a rare steal like ribbons. Brontotaurs are level 77 and Locke on my file is 75 so I steal them pretty often.
Shit I remember back in the day the rumor that a rare dinosaur drops an item used to revive Leo. Then I just got game shark, was easier. Gave him 2 Atma Weapons, runic, offering, genji glove.
The original rumor was from the Kaiser dragon that was programmed in the game(in name only), that's why he's the boss of the dragon's den. I even saw some Photoshops of Bahamut Dragoon character models injected into the FFVIj rom with "Kaiser Dragon" plastered in the battle log, people just wouldn't give up.Originally Posted by HAcoreRD

But on the other hand, General Leo was awesome.Originally Posted by Auspice

From what I understand, each encounter on the Vedlt is grouped together with others, and while you walk around on the Vedlt the "group order" is predetermined and when you encounter an enemy, the random number generator selects one encounter in that grouping. So basically, as long as you cycle through the different "groups", you'll always encounter a specific set of mobs if they're the only one's you've experienced in that group.Originally Posted by Huggo
I've found the easiest way to acquire this Rage after getting the Falcon is:
1) Go to Duncan's House and get the Bum Rush/Phantom Rush.
2) Go to Mobliz and pick up Terra.
3) Go to the Vedlt and pick up Gau.
4) Go to Kefka's Tower. Put 1 person in Group 1 and Group 3, and fill out Group 2. Switch to group 2 immediately, and follow the path to the Imperial-looking section, you should find some Minerva armor along the way. Fight one encounter with Retainer/Yojimbo. If a Dark Force appears, consider it a bonus (they use a lot of Lores). It'll be a hard fight at this level, and Retainer/Yojimbo tends to do an instant death attack when it dies. If you encounter any other mobs, just Smoke Bomb out, it's usually not worth it to fight them.
5) Go to the Vedlt and kill mobs until you encounter Retainer/Yojimbo. Leap. Get Gau back and enjoy your souped-up Shock.
tl/dr: The key to getting specific Rages is to get them before your list of encounters increases.
Agreed, Leo was the shit and had balls to stand up to Kefka like that.Originally Posted by Septimus

I'm not sure if the calculations have changed on the save/restore trick for getting a particular group, but this guide still holds up. Has every possible group rotation:Originally Posted by Jeryhn

I didn't say he wasn't. Leo is probably my favorite minor FF character. <3Originally Posted by Septimus
