While FF3 US's translation was nowhere nearly as butchered as FF2 US, I was one of the people who was disappointed when the PS1 version of FF6 didn't receive any translation overhaul (not to mention the fact that FF6 PS1 lagged like a motherfucker to the point of making me not even bother replaying it on there...)Are you a fucking weeaboo or something? Are you honestly saying that you prefer this flat, dull, dry translation to Woolsey's vivid one?
I think if the translation of the new FF6 remake is faithful to the original Japanese version and not simply a second attempt at "flavorizing" it for Americans, it's worth experiencing if only to be able to see FF6 in a better light. It's one thing to enjoy lines like "You spoony bard!" because of how awful they sound when you think about it, but that doesn't mean it's a superior translation to the original.
I still enjoy awful fantasy, if anyone has played that, its exceptional
lol is this serious? If so that is hilarious.
Are you suggesting FF3/6 is bad? lol..
Not at all.
Just saying it's funny that someone would do something like this.
Nah not you, that website in general lol.
meh, no matter how good something is, you're still going to have people crying over one thing or another.
wtf did they do to the music in the game >.>
here's the atma fight music.

dash + sprint shoes is so fast your characters legs dont show correctly at times, its fucking fast as hell
Honestly, this translation is a lot better. I don't care about it being true to the l33t JPness or whatever, I'm talking about it actually being well-written and using the English language correctly.
The old SNES translation was hilarious, yes. But it was hilarious because it was insanely stupid at some points, and riddled with errors. In this version, they still retain Kefka as both insane and weird, but at the same time what he says is slightly more reasonable.
And my god, I'm really pissed that they butchered the music. FF6 had by far the best musical score of any FF game, and it was better than the vast majority of games period. Yeah, FF7's *sounded* a bit better, but thats simply because it was playable at a higher quality due to the PSX. If you could play sound of that quality on the SNES, FF6 would have been beautiful...
The Piano arrangement of FF6 is quality music

The reason the sound isn't as good is because the GBA doesn't have nearly as good of a sound engine as the SNES which is a damn shame. I've also noticed some noise and static in some of the music when I've got my DS' speakers up to max while playing.
Anyone else notice some random crash bugs? I've had my DS just go black on me a few times while playing, the first was after my first meeting with Gau on the Veldt. :/
You're using rom? That happens when you try to rts right?Originally Posted by Auspice
It's kinda nice, though. It means you can just put the game on autodash and never bother devoting a relic slot to the sprint shoes. I tried stacking both but it was just too fast, it felt retarded.Originally Posted by Sonomaa
