So I take my magic user all-star party to the Fanatic's Tower. I go up legit, all the way. No Mog for Moogle Charm. Didn't even use K-Mart version that lowers encounters by 50% I battled my way all up the tower playing by the rules. Holy Dragon pwnd, got that secret treasure chest with Edgar's last tool inside, everything. By the way, lemme just say that playing by the rules takes HOURS since, if you're smart, you use reflect rings. Enemies will cast on you, get hit by their own spells, and go into a series of auto-counter attack programs. Some enemies you can take up quick and dirty with Banish but for the most part this took HOURS. So I get to the top, get the treasure, fight the boss which took another 45 minutes since he does barrier change every time he is hit by anything, and proceed down. My first random encounter is two enemies, one which casts Meteor and Meltdown. I'm fucked, since this ubermage seems to get 9 turns a second. Can't run, can't teleport. He just sits there and spams Meteor and Meltdown until I die. My team was level 40, maybe I should wait and build more levels cuz I don't wanna cheat this part. Call it a principle.

Can't you cast Berserk on one of your characters to reflect it onto him, then osmos and rasp his MP away in this version while he is unable to cast spells?
