Personally, it only does that for me when my batteries are close to dying and I have to keep hitting a button for it to resync.
I guess worst case scenario, call tech support. x.x

I had that same problem the day I got my Wii. I ended up fixing it by unplugging the Wii and plugging it back in again. I don't think I had to sync it after plugging it back in though.

Trade it in for a gamecube.
