Erasing signature

If you're going to sell it, then you have no say in what happens to it and don't have the right to be offended. If you wanted to keep it signed you should've tried to sell it to a friend who would want something signed by you, if you're bazaaring it for any joe to come and buy, they can do with it as they like.

If it is a friend of yours who has erased your signature, i think that's rude. I've had friends of mine that i've had a falling out with erase signatures off of gifts, or just flat out sell them on the AH to other people, which totally blows.

When a different crafter gives me a signed item and i keep it unless we have some HUGE fight and i don't want to wear their signature anymore. In that case I either give them the item back, store it, or trade to one of their friends for a non-signed same-item. I will not erase other people's name, no matter how rude the crafter is to me

A weird off-note to this.. say someone on your server with a really bad rep buys something you have signed. Would you really want them running around in your brand gear? I've even seen some odin RMT wearing signed gear by some pretty high-profile players that they bought off bazaars. It just seems a little.. dirty =/

Exactly. Some Midgar RMTs bought signed stuff out of my bazaar. I really hope they get banned quickly because I sure as hell don't like the idea of RMTs running around in stuff with my name on it.

I don't like signing my own gear so I run around in signed gear from other people. I just like signed gear, my weskit is signed by Helene, who I don't know, may or may not still play. I half like the idea that I freak out my competition by wearing their stuff, but also it was a nice name >.>

As a weird aside I get overly proud of my "firsts" even if NQ, I was gutted when I found my first dragon harness washed on the ah by a friend. Had they asked me I would just have bought it back anyway.

Random person bought from bazaar: I would be annoyed at first, but then I'd move on since I was selling it after all.

If it was a friend though, that would bother me the most.

Personally I don't care if RMT wear the stuff I make. I've actually seen at least 1 of my NQ Amemet Mantles on RMT. (I sell them in Batallia Downs on a mule).

1. It's better than having it sit in my mule's bazaar taking up space. (Plus I usually sell for slightly more than AH because of signature)
2. Free advertising since alot probably check those who look like RMT players.

Granted though I've only sold 1 big ticket item and that was to a legit player. I saw he's reselling them and kept the signature on them which was cool to see.

The only time I'm offended by someone taking my signature off, is if they asked to have it put on to begin with, or I gave it to them as a gift. Those people immediately go to my "never craft for this person again" list.

Check ah next day to see its been sold for 1 gil to herself to get my name off it, just because it wasn't hq it wasn't good enough. See that's completely different... If a person asks you to go out of your way, get an HQ crystal, then they wipe it off that's a kick in the balls.

It's only rude if it's a tier0 synth, and if the guy who was lucky enough to get the HQ isn't a total scumbag. erasing sig off scorp+1 who really cares. erasing off dusk gloves+1 or pennance robe for example would be assholeish

I think most people are just downright retarded and think having a self-sale on the AH for a rare item is important somehow. More important than bearing a "friend's" name.

Personally, I like having items signed by friends, I do not buy signed gear from people I do not know, and if I want to buy an item and the person selling it has it signed, I just won't buy it, or will want to remove the name..though in that second case, I actually do tell the crafter, since I know many will have extras of that item that may not be signed and I could just get one that is not signed, if its the only one around they have, I will tell them that I will remove the name, and if they throw a fit about it, I just ask them: "then why the fuck are you selling it if you care so much about it?"

If I signed something from a request, I'd take much more offense to having my sig wiped. I have some signed nq dusk on my bazaar now. I don't really care if someone wipes the sig on that. I'm only signing them on the off chance I HQ it for myself.

I'll admit- I got pretty comfortable signing NQs and trading them for unsigned ones in LS- I feel like I'm not wasting my HQ crystals and it makes me/them happier. And I continue to do that now, aiming for an hopefully easier HQ (Noble's).

As for the rare HQs, especially one so job limited, after I exhausted my flist for potential buyers (and having one for myself) I bazaared it.

And, you know, it's been a few weeks and having the money and the knowledge that there is only one Kriz-signed Blessed Mitts +1 left, which I won't get rid of, is neat and fine by me.

I also admit, that I thought it'd be the coolest thing ever to wear signed tier0 HQ items, even from strangers. I know a long time ago I saw a Valefor CC'er with signed Mahatma body in a bazaar and thought, how cool it'd be to have that- even though he didn't know me.

I'll be more careful with selling signed tier0's in the future, but I'm glad to see what BG thinks about the issue is in line with what I had thought

For some reason on my server (Unicorn), the cool thing to do is to go buy (Bazzar'd) some HQ gear and then go sell it to yourself on the AH like it makes you cool or something. I can understand if its a crafter doing this (maybe didn't use HQ crystal) but most the ones on my server aren't crafters, they are just rich people who buy the stuff, then throw their name up on the AH like its a competition.

i'd go with your buyer was doing that, not just doing it to erase your signed mitts.

On another note, If I went through trouble traveling to the guild to sign anything for someone, only to see them sell it at AH later for profit, THEN i'd get upset.

Strange trend

When I crafted a Dragon Harness +1, which I forgot to sign, I didn't bother with listing on the AH despite no sales in the history partly out of paranoia that someone would of snatched in that minute window it was up for a ridiculously low amount.
