a quick trip to amazong has revealed that Staring at the sea is earily Greatest hits and Galore is later Greatist hits. SO your right, however, looking at the track listing, I'm going to reccomend GaloreOriginally Posted by Intense

I personally wanna hear him cover more Cure songs - love song, apart, killing an arab, etc.
He has the vocals for it oO
What are some good limewire songs for me to grab? I know Girls not Grey and the Leaving Song from work, which are great, so show me more ...non mainstrem work =)
Derail sorta
Frogboiler->Boiling Frogs->Alexisonfire?>>
AFI??Alexisonfire
A Fire Inside
Nah Alexisonfire is one of those tacky screamo bands. Dont mind them. ;3
Meh, I'd probably like em lol.
If a band has any sort of original sound or message it earns my respect off the bat.
Pretty cool covers. Davey has a good voice, no doubt. I liked the Deftones one better though.
But yeah, the Cure is fucking amazing. There are discography torrents out there for anyone who is interested. Also for anyone who is a Cure fan, check out Joy Division.
A guy named Jose Gonzalez does a GREAT version of Love Will Tear Us Apart. Check it out.Originally Posted by Beckwin

I like the Deftones cover, but I don't even like the original version of Just Like Heaven, so I doubt anyone else covering it is going to make me like it better. I'm a huge Cure fan, btw. I just think Fat Bob sometimes goes a little too fluffy with his material. I prefer Fat Bob when Fat Bob wasn't Fat Bob and was skinny-on-drugs Robert Smith freaking out and depressed, ala Pornography. Now *that* was some kick ass The Cure music! 8)
Alexisonfire isn't that bad. The End is a hax song.
It's We Are The End, and yes, it's an awesome song (as is We Are The Sound).Originally Posted by Kiro

But as much as I'd like to see a music forum, I know it would fail. It would be cool for like a week then it would just be 1 never ending thread of "I'm listening to this right now" and it would attract all the little sheeny fucks who love to say "omg your music sucks" "why listen to music when you cant understand the lyrics?" "you guys are dumb, iron maiden and dream theater are the best ever!!!!!!!" or my personal favorite "they were better 10 years ago when they were underground"
LOL @ Alexisonfire being a tacky screamo band![]()
But yeah Jersey "Sing The Sorrow" by AFI is an amazing album, Davey Havok is such an emotional singer its scary.
Name of the Alexisonfire song is "Boiled Frogs". "The Boiled Frog" is a metaphor for so many things, generally for collective inaction, or failure to notice gradual changes around one's self, and then ultimately suffer catastrophic loss.
I think all screamo bands are tacky though. Why would they be any different?
I actually used to be into a lot of that type of "scene" music, but not anymore. What changed? Well I like to think that I grew up.![]()
