I think the Op should dress up in black leather and a cape at night and fight crime, like Batman. I know, it sounds rather silly, but...hey, people like Batman.

Holy god you are the most dense person in this thread. He's 17 fucking years old. Everyone and their mother had a bad teenage relationship. You get the hell over it, not dwell on it for 6 months. Seriously, grow up and stop acting like you're some awesome person for telling some kid who hasn't even gotten out of puberty yet that there's other fish in the sea. His hormones are fuckin raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaging right now and he wants the vagina but he apparently can't get any so he's constantly thinking about what he USED to have. As soon as he bangs the next 16 year old slut, he'll completely forget about the last one.Originally Posted by khain

If you cut out every bad part of your life it won't suck anymore, unless you're one of those people who live to get stuck in negative spirals.Originally Posted by Axil

thats what I fucking said you dumbass. I told him to find another girl, but then I started thinking what if he cant get one. So I tried to help him with some kind words. Way to be a heartless prick.Originally Posted by Anyway

If you can, seriously try to see a congnotive therapist. Even if you can't get your problems magically solved by talking to them I found that just being able to talk to someone, and having them help you understand what you are feeling really felt good. It is hard enough without having to work through the whole thought process by yourself.

OH to please the ignorant masses, here is my advice:
Start smoking weed.
Good advice.
I just wanted to vent what's been breaking me for a while. I knew people would post like "oh you faggot grow some balls", I don't blame them. It was bound to happen.
The ex-girlfriend was the least of my troubles, at any rate, even though it cuts me deep. I have been with another girl since then, and I like another girl right now too (although, I'm having trouble talking to this one because she's quite elusive). But when I think of this girl I like now, sometimes my mind just switches. And all my old memories flood back.
Did I really expect an answer from the internet, a place where any kind of information or opinion can be gathered with incredible ease and speed? Maybe I did. I suppose it was naive of me.

can always make the entries private when you just wanna vent about dumb shit.
...Thanks I guess? I'm not really a LiveJournal person...
At any rate, I'm going to sleep. Thanks to those who tried to give some words of encouragment. And Axil, I'm not really into taking drugs so that's not really a problem.
It does get better IMO, the older I get the less I've cared about what other people I don't like say. And something about paying your own bills and living on your own really makes it easy to shut out your parents if you feel so inclined. Or like in my case, where I've come to actually like my mom now that I don't live with her.
You're not a lj person when you just wrote a wall o'text about your problems?? That pretty much defines a LJ person bud.
i kick ass and take names, it helps me
omg serious response incoming
Hm, I kind've went through something similar to you, only not as harsh I guess.
As far as your friends go, if they're avoiding you or as you see it "slipping away" then think for a moment that maybe you're not the only person with problems. Sometimes your friends aren't in such a hot mood or maybe they're having similar problems. I guess though if it's a constant thing, then sorry to break it to you but they're not very good friends to begin with. Friends are there for whatever you need to talk about, even if they only act like they're listening, at the very least you have someone to vent to and maybe relate with.
For your mother, man up and approach her about the shit she's saying and doing to you. I know it's a little intimidating, especially for someone like you who seems pretty laid back (as far as I could tell by the thread, the fact you don't flip out on your parents for example), but in my experience it was the best thing I did. My mom never said she hated me or constantly belittled me, but one instance that really stuck out was my graduation night. She seriously ruined it for me, in front of my friends. So I took her aside and asked her what the fuck was up. If your mom is anything like my mom, she'll cry, yell a bit, etc., but ignore it and continue to make points against her. She'll try guilt trips, trust me. It's probably something all mothers attempt. But don't feel bad. She's made you feel like shit, why should you feel any sympathy (or atleast show it) when you're trying to show her that you're hurting?
For your dad, sometimes you need to take the initiative and help him regardless of whether he asked or not. If you show him you're willing to help he will appreciate it. When you ask him "Hey dad, need help?" I guarantee his thought process is something along the lines of thinking you're only asking to seem helpful, and he doesn't want to bother you. Find a common interest with him in something that isn't related to your strength. Cars, computers, model cars, cards... something. My dad and I had a very crappy relationship until we found common interest in cars, and our friendship and bond have done nothing but improve since then.
Don't know what to tell you about your ex-girlfriend, I've personally never had a hard time getting over an ex. I think the best bit of advice given to you about this was already stated in this thread, "don't be upset of what's over, be happy with what happened" or however it was worded. If you dwell on the negatives and never think of the positives, it'll take you a long time to get over it. I think anyone who's experienced a lot of death of family or friends, for example, could tell you that.
You just need to relax, find something constructive to do away from your home if things with your parents don't improve. Get a hobby that doesn't involve sitting at your house all the time. I've recently began reading books more and more and it's very relaxing to me, maybe it'll be the same for you. Don't do drugs or alcohol either, nothing good comes from it in the long run. Find a place in town or whatever to just chill with a few friends. My "chill" place with my friends is the little family-owned Diner or the hookah bar, or (hey cliche) the pizza place.
Act your way into right thinking.
You'll never get over bad feelings wishing they would go away.
Get in shape, eat right, get a tan, and go be successful at something. Fuck everyone else, they either contribute or get the hell out of the way.
Women are mostly worthless and you shouldn't ever blame them for your unhappiness or think that life will be better with one around. To make matters worse.. when you're in a funk and not feeling good about yourself the only girls that go after you are the bottom feeding whores who will just make your life worse.
The only decent girls out there are only going to like you if you're happy and successful on your own.
Think about the perfect girl that will could come along and make your life better.. Well she thinks you're a loser. You might wanna work on becoming someone she would actually like, and no one likes a debbie downer.
