Moving items

For some reason I am unable to move shit around my desktop/folders etc

No idea whats going on, tried restarting but nada :/

Right click > arrange items > Auto Arrange?

As in at all, or that you can't move things off the grid? If Auto Arrange is on, you can reorder stuff but not say, drag it to the right hand side of the screen.

Well my power went off and now i'm able to move shit around.... so confused. Now my only issue is if i click on a picture to open, double click of course, it won't open. only way i can do it is it i right click > open with > windows paint w/e

Edit: Now i can move stuff around but cannot put them in the trash -.- what the fuck lol or move a picture/file into a folder it gives me a black circle with a line through it, kinda like those no smoking pictures ; ;

are you running an up to date antivirus?

can you tell me more about what you meant by not being able to move stuff around? for example do you mean the icons? like you wanna place some icons on one side... and the other side, or do you mean you couldnt move files from say C:\folder1 to C:\folder2?

If you arent running and up to date antivirus i suggest you get one ASAP, i also suggest you run an online antivirus scan... i dont have direct links but you can google them easily

edit: also did you recently uninstall anything? do you get any errors when you try to open your image files? also when you right click on a file and goto open with, if you select choose a program to open this file with, theres a check box that you can check to always use that program to open that type of file...

Start up the computer in safe mode and run a virus scanner (avast and and avg are good free ones), also runs spyware scans (spybot and adaware if you don't have them).

If that doesn't work, bittorrent the windows cd and reformat.

I have adaware and it comes up with some stuff but it keeps telling me to register and pay for it. If anyone help me out with a way to get around that i would be greatful

adaware is free, you dont have adaware you have a faker
