I think it depends on the definition of 'scratch'. If it's like some little scratch on the front surface, not that deep that's one thing. If it looks like someone keyed his PS3 on the way out of the shipping department...
Isn't there some sort of cream you can fix that with? I swear I saw something about it somewhere. >_>
A free game that I want no part of, difficult to grasp a hold of? It was my third call to Sony and the only reason I got the free game was because the guy understood what was going on. I'm peeved that they decided to pull the plug on sending new ps3's the moment mine decided to crap out.Originally Posted by Mr.City
and epical, my ps3 is pretty much just for show (I haven't found one game that I throughly enjoy) for the time being, having a big fucking scratch on it sorta ruins that, no?
That'd be possible and all if it weren't for the fact that it was in a box hundreds of miles away loacted who the hell knows where. I'm not bitching at all, mainly peeved that they decided to pull the plug on sending new ps3's the moment mine decided to crap out. Going through 3 ps2's tends to leave you a bitter taste in your mouth. If its so bad i want to see pics of how bad this PS3 is, its probably not even that major.
So when you tell everyone you have a PS3, you have them over to look at the console and then say "Well folks, I have no idea what the system actually plays like, hell I bought the same game seventeen fucking times, but who's counting!"
...please.
This shit is going to go on forever. Know what? The real problem isn't the stratch on the PS3 but the fact that you bought a PS3 at all.Originally Posted by blister1
I don't buy games, I usually get free rentals. If I enjoy it I'll buy it, I've played most of the releases so far and none were worth the $60 price tag. If it makes you feel better, it'll change come March.Originally Posted by Epical

You're right, I should have fully expected Resistance to suck.Originally Posted by Mr.City

So you paid $600 dollars for a PS3 just to show off to your friends? There's alot better ways to show off that probably cost alot less.
Says the person with 400.Originally Posted by Bebopaloo

Paying 600$ of their money might not be a waste to them, but he bought it just to show it off and doesn't even like any of the games out for it.
That seems wasteful to me...
I'd rather buy a really cute 600$ dog to show off to my friends, since they're actually cool, cute, and do fun things.Plus I actually want it for myself.
Heh, I got a PS3 and I pretty much use it as a PS2 emulator, and for Resistance.
I know that it'll be a while before some good games come out (even though Motorstorm is coming out next month), but it was either that or buying ANOTHER PS2 (since mine officially died..) And I was going to get a PS3 eventually anyways, so I figured why not.
See, that's a good reason to get one. If you had the money, wanted to play PS2 games, and knew you were going to get one, then sure, why not? But to have JUST as a showpiece, that seems like a waste of 600$ to me.Originally Posted by Exoduso

And I bet this guy is just making a big deal out of it, my PS3 has some small scratches as well, from moving it around and cleaning it and stuff... it's nothing you notice unless you look close enough, and it's only because Sony used that POS material for the outside cover.
GTFO.
I think the point you guys fail to grasp is that if this had happened to you, you would be just as pissed.
He is right about the point that "I did not pay $600 for a scratched system." He never asked for some game he did not want, so that doesn't make it any better for him. If I was in his position I would be pissed too, but I'd probably just write an email and send it back. Would you be able to do that blister?
you dont get a new system for a broken system. at most, they have to fix your system and send it back to you. which guess what? it's now considered a refurbished system. that's all thats expected. he should be damn grateful they gave him a free game as well. the system is going to get scratches on it, deal with it.
