The reason I asked is given how much land there is already, can a MMORPG like this support more areas? If Azeroth is indeed bigger, than I see no reason Vanadiel cannot expand.
I read somewhere that CoP and ToAU were part of a plan (well, 2 expansions were planned), much like how FFXI + RotZ were planned together, so that could affect them having ToAU copyrighted rather early.
As for the next expansion names, they are:
Enigma of the East
Secrets of the South (or Mysteries of the Male Mithra)
Wonders of the West
Nuisance in the North, eh?
You can't really be comparing the size of the two different virtual worlds...Originally Posted by Epical

I read on another site, not sure which one, that SE would actually complete the map for this Empire and its rivals. The Far East and West will prolly be added in the next coming expansions, if FFXI does last that long.
SE has no issues with gaping plot holes. Beat all the missions for one nation and the RoZ expansion, and switch nations and go through those missions. Hay Archduke, ur looking well! And so far the start of no expansion has required any progress in the previous expansions. Apoc Nigh was the first big tie in between expansions.Originally Posted by Rocl
I would love if they required such things, but the Alla crowd that are still working towards their first lvl75 job and just completed Z4 might protest. I was one of the few people in my linkshells that actually had completed Zilart before Apoc Nigh came out, I wanted to know how it ended.![]()
You can go from Bastok to Xarcabard in like 2 hours(on foot), You travel in WoW 2 hours (North to south) and you might be 1/2 the way north. It took me like 25 minutes to run to a "Near by city" the other day lolOriginally Posted by ringthree

I'm surprised no one has pointed this out but, I think, in the end, the only thing that will decide if there are more expansions is money.
If it is more profitable for SE to invest in development of a new expansion rather then not they will.
If, however, it is less profitable to bring about a new expansion then it is to simply let the player base dwindle while looking forward to the next minor update then they won't.
With the advent of a new FF mmo, they are probably much more likly to predict higher profits from allowing current ffxi players to continue their play while not giving them any new expansions and, at the same time, target both new and veteran ff players to the newer mmo.
Where do you put your resources? There is no doubt that SE will reduce it to a question of profitability. For every die hard endgamer that's leveling his or her ninth job, there are likly 5 prospective players that could be influenced to buy a new mmo and try it for 1 month. That being said, I would ask myself "Is it really in SE's best interest to bring out other expansions or to focus dev team on the newer mmo?"
I thought it was generally understood that each of the storylines (National, Rise of Zilart, Chains of Promathia, and Treasures) were all self-contained. I mean, in CoP you ascend to a level of power (over nine thousand) capable of killing Promathia himself.Originally Posted by Sci
I'd say that was more about Prishe, Sel'tius, and your party's power combined being 9000+. Not to mention Jabbos/Shikaree/etc etc although they didn't quite join in versus Promathia himself. However, I thought that was one of the things that the CoP storyline pulled off very well in contrast to Nations/Zilart. The concept that you were part of something bigger, and that you had very powerful allies with similar goals apart from the 5 random shitty players you gathered in lower jeuno via shouts. It helped it seem less that it was just your raw solo power that could save the world from a 'God' while you couldn't even put a dent solo in a stupid dragon that hangs out by himself in KRT.Originally Posted by Taj
It's established that they feel no obligation to add too much continuity to the game, but it would be nice if they did, considering the COP all-stars are essentially waiting for you, wherever they are.
(Spoiler Kinda?) One even asks you to remember their real name
In all likelihood, the devs aren't going to give themselves too much more to program, so we can only hope that when/if we meet Tenzen again, he wont be like 'Who Be Ye, Asks Me.'
Hmm I only read page 1 so far, but while people discussed if it is fake or not, I wrote SE a mail and asked if they can provide us information if this pic is true or a fake and one more question, that you guys will know asap as I get an answer (hopefully this year>.<).
Ah where did that Mithra take the boat to again? Also I couldn't find the bard to replay the cutscene with Tenzen leaving. Man, I kind of wish I could do CoP all over again, I enjoyed the missions and the people I did them with. Even if all I got was a marginally decent ring (obviously I didn't get Rajas), I gained alot of new friends that stuck with me to their bitter end and a huge sense of accomplishment. With ToAU, the few of us who remain from the fabled Rocl CoP Static of Yore attempt to do what we can, and it's working, but I would very much like more challenging cotent and a much more epic storyline. Perhaps a BCNM with the 3 Beastmen Kings attacking at once I don't know. I'm generally disappointed with the story in ToAU thus far.
God willing.
The pointy part of the orcish empire should be the most true aspect, since you can kinda see it in the Empyreal Paradox 'Floor' (mighta been clouds, but it looked landish to me.)
She said she took the boat from mhuara to kazhan, and then further south, iirc.
The Tenzen Leaving CS is in metalworks, so that NPC, between sandy offices and lucious's(something like that) office.
Ah, I was going nuts in Port Bastok looking for the NPC and not getting the CS
(I don't visist Bastok much)
And the mithra girl ( I can't remember either of her names, Shikaree Z?) going to the south is :O
One can always hope you have to complete CoP and it's final cutscenes for the next expansions so Tenzen and Mithra girl will welcome you to their homelands :\
(Or at least bypass some early missions since you already know people higher up)
