Assuming he has NQ slops and NQ earth staff, wouldn't 5% accuracy on slow benefit him more than 1 INT -1 enmity on BLM? And also I agree with Shuemue regarding lappa.Originally Posted by Septimus

i'd say lappa for a variety of reasons. not only for soloing, but making sure that sleep sticks in dyna or wherever when there's 10 mobs. let 1 go through unslept and you're going to be eating demon asswooping.
When gearing a BLM what is typically the priority for equipment slots? INT>MP>something>something? I'm starting an elvaan blm.
Double Attack +2% or Double Attack +1 for double attack rate? (refering to Ares Flanchard and Warrior's legs.)
Yes, I used this for skilling staff on MNK ages ago. Counterstance GO!Originally Posted by Capo
MAB>INT>MP or whatever I'd say. I wish I was a taru for their INT/MP because as a hume I'm usually casting with a max of 850 MP [Only 1 merit in MP, it's awesome, I know] You'll have to deal with resting alot due to MP pool, but stacking up on the hMP gear will (hopefully) help. I'm not sure where Elvaan's stand with INT, but every bit of INT helps.Originally Posted by JigglyJam
In a way, I guess you could just slack off on your first nuke with mixing in some MP gear, but after your initial boost to MP is gone, just go all out MAB/INT. For the love of God, just keep enfeebling capped. I had so many manaburn parties from 50-60 with BLM's who had their enfeebling like 100 levels undercap, and couldn't sleep shit because of it.
Also to the cmoment of Igqira Lappas, buy them. 10 Enfeebling skill is HUGE for BLM's, with our 230 skill at 75. Igqira Tiara/Lappas + NQ AF Body with 8 merits in enfeebling, it's a huge improvement, especially in solo cases.
Elemental Skill > INT > MAB > MPOriginally Posted by JigglyJam
IMO, but of course you cant stack Ele. skill until later on.
Depends on the situation entirely. I've never seen a BLM put MAB unconditionally ahead of INT before though. If resists are an issue, skill > mab/int wherever else. If not, MAB > INT/Skill wherever else. Of course, don't wear 1MAB over 10int, each piece needs to be weighed against it's options in each situation.Originally Posted by Tajin
If you have Errant Slops already then I would buy Lappas, then Mahatma and then Terra's Staff.
I bought Mahatma first but thats just cause I didnt wanna have NQ lol.
Well bah, I've heard and read a few times that it essentially added it to the TP per hit, I was kind of surprised since it made it a really simple matter to work out all this as opposed to to the x1.06 which my brain dislikes due to the decimals fucking with me.Originally Posted by Slott

@Tajin:
Lappas are great for solo and LS events (maybe less so if you have 8/8 enfeeble merit but even then they dont hurt) - much more so that 1 INT id say
@Jigglyjam:
If you talking from lvl 1 exping up then id say its a bit different to once youve hit 75 etc.
Until you get to the upper lvls of BLM (post AF) you can really only access INT and MP gear (rep. crown can be nice if you can activate it not much in it and seers +1 much same tbh and def get a moldy ear when u can).
No reason why you cant get MP gear and INT gear - use MP gear for you first nuke and then swap in INT gear once you have burnt off the excess MP. A lot of times its crosses over anyway - mainly rings will be a key difference.
Itll give you a free spell or 2 which at low levels is very handy. I still use that principle on BLM 75 when soloing to get a free t4 to open up then swap in INT and MAB - very handy for non taru's to manage MP pool as best you can.
I doubt there is a way to definitively say, but I believe the assumption is the +1 on Warrior's Legs is 1%Originally Posted by Leonock

I know SE released a translated version of FFXI in french. I've been playing the NA version since it's release and i'd like to know if I would be able to play the french version with my NA char. Basically, what I want to do is watch the CS of a few mission to understand more on the background and story of FFXI. And if it's possible, does anyone have a link to a torrent for it ?
There is truth here, but thanks to everyone for all the input. :DOriginally Posted by Septimus

I always thought warrior's legs were more than 1%.
I'm pretty certain that melee hose (+5 kicks) are +5%, so I don't see warrior legs being any different?
Also, some questions for THF- I'm only 70 atm, but I'll be able to ding into +18 haste, with capped dagger merits. Once I'm 75, should I use:
Turban
Rap harness
Dusk gloves
Swift Belt
Bravo's (with this haste my only acc would come from PCC, swift belt and rings...)
or... try an acc set and eat meat? My alternatives would be:
Optical Hat
Pahluwan khazagand
War gloves
Life belt
Pahluwan legs
or should I mix and match? Is there a magic +acc # I should aim for, or should I just forgo the acc and go haste+sushi?
One last question: For a shield, tariqah/+1 or viking? If I'm gonna mix/match haste/acc, I could see tariqah might be better... but for sushi, obviously viking would come out ahead.. should I just get both? (I also have /nin and sirocco available, but I like /war better so far)
Got Askar Korazin last night, did the math out and I see that I can easily do a 6 hit setup WAR/SAM with fortitude axe, even with polestrap, which is sex, I'm curious if there's a way (if im missing something) to 5 hit setup with Gaxe (not really for XP just for certain situations / fun)
I don't think you can even get close. Even with Carbonara, Askar, Brutal, Chiv, Rajas, Bushido's Cape and Attila's Earring with SAM sub you can only get 35 Store TP. You are going to need to get to 46 Store TP to be able to do a 5 Swing set-up. If you have a Corsair though, you will almost always be able to get to what you need for a 5 hit combo even without a SAM in party.
The real question is whether people underestimate the quality of Samurai Roll for two handers, it got a really huge boost when they upgraded the Corsairs rolls.
Interestingly enough, with a Samurai's Roll of 11, Carbonara, Askar, Brutal, Chiv and Rajas you can get to a 4 hit set-up with a Fortitude Axe.
My god, that would be so beautiful.
Samurai 11 for 4 Hit, Fighters 11 for like 40% DA.
Your job would then change from Warrior/Samurai to Whirling/Dervish, and all will crumble before you.
(small note, Fortitude Delay is the same as all other worthwhile Great axes besides Bravura/Abaddon Killer, and they can all get 6 hit with +7 Store Tp and /Sam, 504 ftw)
