All of which can be affected by Subtle Blow, so for instance a BLU/NIN (10% SB) would give 9 TP per spell hit, and a NIN/DRK (25% SB, without additional gear) would give 7.5 TP per spell.Originally Posted by fantasticdan

Has anyone tested just how strong rune chopper is in exp situations?
I'm trying to find an axe to use when not using fortitude axe aka (I ran out of pouches) and the rune chopper appeals to me most with it's 9% haste but if there other options that are better I'd like to know.
it depends on what level you are. frankly i wore federation kyahan from 25-70 until i replaced them with hachiman. at 75, your goal is to attain a 6 hit build, which can be done one of two ways, assuming you'll have 5/5 store tp merits, a rajas ring full time, and getting +1 from hopefully a brutal earring, but if you don't have sea, then at least a chiv chain, and using a 450 delay gkt. you can either wear dusk gloves for the 3% haste(and 5 attack), and hachiman sune-ate for the +5 store tp. your other option is to wear fumas for the 3% haste and wear hachiman kote. the tradeoff here is that you have less attack while building tp in the second set(unless of course you're super rich and awesome and have either usukane feet or dusk feet +1), but can weaponskill in feet like askar or rutters for more one more str during your ws, whereas in the first setup, which is the one i use personally, you have to leave the hachiman feet on during the weaponskill at the cost of one str.Originally Posted by maxsan
if you're asking whether to wear fuma kyahan while leveling samurai, they don't certainly hurt when stacked with swift belt and hasso, and even moreso if you've got a whm/rdm on the ball hasting you and/or a brd giving you march, just make sure you swap your feet gear during weaponskill. at the time i was leveling samurai two years ago, they just weren't worth the pricetag, and were generally considered a nin only item, but if you've got em, and they work for you, they certainly won't hurt your performance.
I know I've seen somewhere that people determined Subtle Blow had no effect on BLU spells.Originally Posted by Nerull
I've read about someone testing and finding subtle blow having no effect on physical spells as well, but I can't recall where, and I'm not sure if it's still true. I'll test with a bst next time I get the chance.Originally Posted by Alistaire
The play button activates once the servers are up or have to shutdown POL?
I'm always at work during maintenances.
The FFXI page refreshes itself, so as soon as server are up the Play button will be active, no need to quit.Originally Posted by Tajin
PS POL is being updated also
What is the natural critical hit rate %? (for daggers specifically)
Depends entirely on your DEX and the AGI of the mob you are fighting, I believeOriginally Posted by Falisa
there's a minimum; but I don't know if anyone has bothered testing it.Originally Posted by Harutaru
Is it possible to request BLU/COR/PUP AF? The Jeuno NPC doesn't give the option and I'd really, really like to store the 4 pieces of BLU AF I'm never ever using again.
I'm pretty sure it was in that "DEX = crits relation?" or whatever it was called thread and 5% was the min.Originally Posted by Amele
To clarify, a nuke or DoT that does initail damage (bio/dia) will give 10tp, DoTs that cause no initial damge (frost/burn/poison) give 0 TP.Originally Posted by Drunkenmonk
Does an nuke/intial damage DoT that causes 0 damage still give 10tp?
like regular melee, a hit for 0 gives no TP.Originally Posted by Jodwahh
Do yigit body/manteel work like fast cast? Like, can I start casting a debuff in yigit, then switch to errant?
Yes, they work like fast cast, and are counted at the start of your song (minstrel's ring, same story).Originally Posted by ryskar
Sex. Thanks!(I'd test it myself, but don't have my yigit body yet)
Groovy, thank you.Originally Posted by Amele
