I have some time to think about this, but I just got white rivet/snowy cermet for my 41PLD. This will be my next 75 and most free time I have will be spent leveling it. Seems like boots are the best bet. Is this correct?

Seeing as how Apocalypse Nigh is a mission-esque quest, like Divine Might, can anyone enter the BC without actually qualifying for the reward?![]()
Yes, but you're definitely going to need the NQ while you're leveling, so don't do something stupid.Originally Posted by Siralin

Do all items which have abilities which work in Assault work in Salvage as well, or are the ToAU mission rings unique that way? Specifically, I'm curious about Storm Fife and Storm Crackows.
I really don't like unicorn leggings, I'm often getting hit into yellow in most everything and I figure that I'm going to be missing that haste when I most need it. I just keep a macro to swap out dusk hands/feet for stuff to run around in, then hit tp gear macro to go back to dusk.Originally Posted by Vyloan
I have a question about assault ranking up. First thing I'm going to say, I am not ruling out the possibility that I miscounted the assaults I've done.
This weekend I did nyzul isle for the first time, 3 failures and 1 win. After we won I went to see how close I was to ranking up. By my count, I had 20 assault points since my last rank up, 3 new assaults, 5 ones that I'd done over. I was really surprised when I spoke with naja and got the cs. My question being, are assault rank up points cumulative or is it points since your last promotion?
Like if I've done 6 assaults since ranking that I'd never done before and rank up afterwards, do I have 5 points towards my next rank up or do I essentially lose those 5 points? I was under the impression that you had to be on that rank to earn points toward ranking up, but this experience kind of dumbfounded me. Any help is appreciated, especially if I am missing something incredibly obvious.
It's points since last promotion. Any excess points accumulated before a promotion are lost. Assuming you counted the Nyzul completion as one of your 3 new Assaults, my best guess is that you miscounted. The only other thing I can think of is that by Nyzul failure, do you mean timed out and got no tokens or do you mean you exited at less than five floors, meaning you got tokens but didn't advance your disc? Because if you exited by choice and got tokens, but didn't advance your disc by completing five floors, it still counts as a completed Assault for rank up purposes.Originally Posted by ferigor
Simple question:
Do Dia and Bio stack?
My current xp party assures me that they patched it so that they do 2 years ago. My LS says they're full of shit.
No they don't.Originally Posted by Alathar

I also swap in a Crown, or Qiqirn hood, or Dandy Specs, depending on my mood, and comment out the other two.Originally Posted by Vistani
Uni feet look nice, but when you have 1200 Hp, it isn't much room, nevermind when you're actively tanking something, or even worse, in Campaign, where the difference between full HP, and Red HP is someone pulling the wrong mob a little too close to you.
So... Should I bother with any pieces of wise gear?
P.S. No, town gear is not a valid advice >_>

Cast Dia on a mob. Follow it up with Bio. You won't ever see the message that says "Mob's Dia effect wears off." But you will see the "Mob's Bio effect wears off."
To further provide personal testimony, I bought one merit worth of Dia III partially just so I could overwrite overzealous BLM's who think it's a good idea to cast Bio II on zerged mobs or mobs that might need to be slept. I overwrite Bio II with Dia III all the time. Dia III wears off 30 seconds later, and the second it does, the mob can be slept, so Bio is gone. (Unless, of course, the same overzealous BLM has cast Shock or something on it....)

Wise Cap isn't a bad Enfeebling piece, although I preferred Elite Beret +1 pre-Duelist's Chapeau. The +INT on the Boots is also decent for nuking, at least until you get Yigit Crackows, Nashira Crackows, Duelist's Boots or Goliard Clogs. I know people who like the Wise Legs who otherwise seem like intelligent people, but I just don't think the +2 Magic Accuracy makes up for the +7/+8 MND or INT of Errant. You *MIGHT* be able to justify it on Sleep, Dispel, Gravity and other all-or-nothing enfeebles, but only if you have plenty of inventory space and know what to use it on and what not to. The Wise Body is ridiculously outclassed by Warlock's Tabard, and the Hands are outclassed by about 10 different pieces of gear.Originally Posted by Tajin
