Excluding Perdu Vouldge, what is the best GAXE /THF on HNMs? I use Martial Bhuj whenever /SAM.

But really, Martial Bhuj is up there. If you're talking about just dropping SA+SC at 300%, Byakko's Axe is usually good enough.
Since Raging Rush tends to drop down on higher def mobs, and for Perdu you'd be best off when you save up to 300 TP. I would go with the trusty Mbhuj, it's not like the damage sucks or anything, I'm pinging Kirin for 2k+ in the TP burns (started using Mbhuj to stay alive, do one just 200 TP Steel Cyclone, > Meditate > Warrior's Charge Steel Cyclone to spread the hate out) and it works pretty damn good. Did like 9% total damage out of 15 melees, and died at 30%. (Astral Flow > 1710 Dmg Deadly Hold= lolpwned)
I'd rock the Mbhuj, I missed mine too much, bought it back, Steel Cyclone still rocks, just carry a Raging Rush gaxe (Byakko's/Rampager/Berserker's/Perdu/Choppah/Fortitude) and the Mbhuj.
has anyone found out what keeps the animated weapons in xarc interested? i know that the best method is just to zerg them down and bash them if they try to warp, but it's another quandary that the players have never solved, to my knowledge. in the dat files, there are lines for each weapon becoming amused, and yet i've never seen any of them do anything but become slightly less enraged. i know that there were a number of theories about how to keep it busy, such as using 2 hrs, using relic ws, etc. but to my knowledge, all of these were debunked. has any method succeeded in repeatably being able to keep their attention?
Why can't people put some effort into party invites?
Next time i see an invite that says: "Party?" i'm going to burn down White Gate.
Agreed. My normal /tell:Originally Posted by namfoodle

It tells them the setup, why I'm contacting them, and that I'm in the process of looking for more.
But half the time I get "{Party}" or just "pt?".![]()
Typically I dont use auto-translate if Im sending a PT invite. Its usually something like:
"Hey would you like to PT? Got JOB JOB JOB JOB JOB at 'whatever place were at,' you interested?"
It seems really impersonal to me to only contact someone using auto-translator. If they dont speak english, theyll let me know and then Ill use it. I dunno, Im weird like that.![]()

Another reason not to invite with "pt?", think about the quality of players that will accept that invite...then think if you want them in your party.
I accept regardless of the invite if I'm seeking, but man I hate those one word invites. Although, sometimes I'll hold off responding to those right away! And if I get a different more proper invite in that time I'm almost always going to take that instead. Regardless I'll still respond eventually.
But, yeah... I rarely make PTs now but when I do/did I always fill up the line with at least a greeting + current PT setup. One-word invites are just about as lazy as it gets.
what are the repop conditions for biast? i know obviously you have to kill shadow dragon to pop it, but beyond that, is it 24 hrs from ToD? 36? whenever the hell it feels like it? i'm hearing an awful lot of conflicting reports, and none seem to carry any credibility either.
I think I'm probably the biggest nerd when it comes to this, lol. My invites normally look like this:Originally Posted by namfoodle

If they're seeking Japanese, I also add in:
>> [I don't speak any Japanese] [Party][member] 2[Japanese] 3[English].
And then there's the times when I've been glaring at my screen for thirty minutes spamming /sea all (insert highly desired job name here) and I just get fed up and decide to give every bard in the region incentive to add me to their blacklist
>>[Excuse me...][I'm sorry.]Merit[Party]? (Setup)(Location).
Although, at times like these I'm normally so flustered or tired that the tells end up something like this:
>>[Excuse me...][I'm sorry.]Meri
>>Merit[Party]? ([Red Mage]Warr
>>[Warrior][Ranger]Bard
>>god dammit, stupid enter key
I do the same thing sometimes, I hate it.Originally Posted by Zoot

At least you guys got the "PT?" in the tell. Usually if my rdm didn't /anon, I will get something like
anynomous >> hey
5mins later
anynomous >> {party}?
come on.... why people can't type a complete sentence like... "hi want to party? (follow by something)".
talking about WoW, I got some more rediculous grammar from tell. Just like, "hey, want tank XXXX". well, since i'm warrior and i'm expected to be tank in wow, but I just don't know why even a native american can't type out some proper sentences in the game especially when request something from some one

When I lead manaburn we experimented with the monsters a lot, each weapon is interested/uninterested in certain things. Example, GK really hated magic and would warp almost immediately, till we brought some people who can SC, then it stayed out longer.
Can you get mini turning forks back if you throw them out? If so, how long do you have to wait? I want to start soloing Avatars on BST on a more regular basis for fun, but hate running there. I'd like to just use the mini tuning forks but they take up a bit too much inventory room. I'd check myself but my SMN is lvl 1.
you drop them and you can get them 24hrs. later. Now Im not sure if it is 24hrs after dropping them or 24hrs after accepting the quest.
Also, don't you need to be SMN to use the forks too?
For the uncapped battle you don't need to be summoner to use the fork, any job is fine. To obtain a fork you may have to have SMN unlocked, but I'm 99% sure just the sufficient fame is required, you can do with without SMN.Originally Posted by Tajin
I thought when you were doing the Lv. 20 caps it gave you the mini-tuning forks (an actual usable item) so that you could teleport straight to the crystal without worry of aggro. Have to have it unlocked, yes; need to be on summoner, probably but I'm not sure.
For the uncapped, it just gives you a key item and you can do it as any job/level as long as you have the fame for the avatar's area, you do not have to have summoner unlocked. You have to walk to the protocrystal's area for the fight as well.
If you do not have summoner unlocked you can not choose the "ability to summon avatar" reward, just the 10,000/15,000 gil or the Rare/ex equipment or Evoker's Ring items.
