I go @ 100 every-time unless the mobs hp's to low or something, then just recast shadows(1 shadow up or 2) buff while i get 1 last atk round off and own the next one.

300% for Spiral Hell/Ground Strike/Spinning Slash, unless you meant in exp; then it's 100% Guillotine.

Recently exping on colibri I have noticed that they "forget" to reflect sleep onto me after waking up. It doesn't work every time though.

Is that normal? How long does it take or what conditions must be met for the mob to forget to reflect?

They often skip some spells if multiple spells land in rapid succession. Also for the record they will reflect cure as long as a detrimental spell has been landed on them recently (debuff, damage, basically anything besides cure).

When I exp'ed as rdm, I would spam cure 1's on them. When you get the rhythm of their casting, you can fit in Aspirs without it being cast back if you're quick enough.

I have a question. I haven't touched my Magic catigory for merits and I'm wondering what I should merit in it, whatever would give me the most benefit. My main job is THF, and I have WHM, DRK, SAM, NIN, BLU. I'm figuring if I did another job, most likely RDM and I'd be done, would it be wise to cap Enfeeble? Or would Blue Magic be better? Or Ninjutsu?

Feel free to just give the pros and cons, my job I'm on the most doesn't matter, just wondering what the wisest move would be. I'm curious if Enfeeble merits are as good as I'm thinking, or if I should just cap Blue Magic, etc. If it has to matter, I'm usually NIN or WHM, and I go BLU for fun events, maybe HNM sometimes. I'm THF to Dynamis always, and sometimes HNM, depending on what we have.

Ninjutsu magic skill seems to be mostly worthless unless you spam ele wheel for dmg.

If you dont know what to put them in, just ask yourself what you use most and if you want to upgrade it there. Enfeebling doesn't seem to be all that great for whm, I dont see alot of whm enfeebling stuff and their skill at it is worse then blms. So my opinion is to do blu skill and see if you like it. The skill helps the job alot but its probably not worth it if you dont use the job too much.

Currently the only ways to raise Blue Magic skill are the AF body and merits right?

If I'm not totally wrong on that, I'd say Blue Magic skill would be useful if you find yourself using magic property spells such as Lowing, etc alot.

Thanks for the reply. I only use Suiton/Huton for Thunder/Ice down for mages, then it's just Hojo and Kurayami. With 274 skill (AF+1 mask, too lazy to get torque, earring, although if I can get more inventory space...) I land pretty decently on HNM, save the few that resist anything crazy. For what I do, my skill there is good enough.

I don't enfeeble on my WHM much, outside of an EXP party...if I can land at all. Usually it's a Paralyze on a Puk if I'm bored or something, but yeah, w/ 225 Enfeeble, unless I got gear, w/ merits, I don't think it'd do well for me. Like I said, if I did RDM, I'm curious if Enfeeble merits are worth it on RDM or if they make little notice in the long run. I'm wondering if magic acc/mnd would be a better choice.

Blue Magic I don't see a problem with doing, as I love my BLU. I can easily see a difference in wearing AF body for the str, dex, and 15 skill over when I try using Homam. So I guess it's down to Enfeeble or Blue.

Right, just the body and +16 via merits. I tend to use Frightful Roar which I never see resist much, I don't care much for Lowing

rdm enfeebling merits tend to be noticeable when you can start swapping enfeebling pieces for stats (AF body for errant, etc). Not hugely noticeable on hnm since you'll be going for high skill/acc anyway (hell I don't even know how big a difference it is on HNM, long time since I put enfeebling merits in), but if you ever use it for merits or similar low level stuff you'll notice a big difference.

But I agree with everyone else with your current setup, go blue magic, then worry about changing later if you take rdm up.

Out of all your jobs, meriting Blue Magic skill would give the most return per upgrade. RDM has plenty of enfeebling magic+ gear to land enfeebles reliably while not sacrificing merit categories.

I even merited Summoning skill over Enfeebling because summoning skill adds accuracy to physical and magical Bloodpacts, which allowed me to dump my Avatar Physical Accuracy Merits and convert them into Avatar Magical Attack merits (especially awesome for Nether Blast). Whereas on my RDM I enfeeble just fine in Enfeebling Torque + Warlock Tabard + Duelist's Chapeau + Nashira Gages + Nashira Seraweels (switching in MND gear for Slow and Paralyze as applicable).

Hmm, sounds good. I was thinking the whole amount of enfeeble+ gear RDM gets might outweigh meriting. Thanks everyone who answered, guess I'll be doing Blue Magic :D

    They're two separate things.
Think defense (magic defense) versus evasion (resistance).

Can someone explain people's apparent infatuation with NIN AF1 body+1? I look at it and for the life of me can't find a reason why I would waste coins upgrading it. Shock Spikes? Isn't the whole point of NIN not to get hit? Assuming you're even using that in the first place, it's not something you'll need loads of evasion for anyways. DEX+5 is meh, lolVIT, HP is everywhere... does the Dual Wield enhancement give even faster attacks than just regular AF1?

Currently pending Nagamaki's test whether the gorget affects the accuracy of the subsequent hits.

Otherwise, I don't see why there should be any difference in accuracy if the damage+ boost is the same
