maybe It's fire
I remember Ruke Mijin Gakure'd Kirin with Keichan saying "cheating" in chatlog because he used hyoton before?
not sure, don't quote me (regarding the mijin)

Well, seeing as how Mijin can do full damage on Suzaku and Tiamat, I'm a firm believer that it's nonelemental damage.
I guess one way to test would be to Mijin on JoL when it's in Fire mode to see if it gives HP.
so it's not really typical non-elemental damage.Originally Posted by Priran
is it even magic damage? (like, does any mob resist it?) or is it closer to just a straight 'target loses this much HP' effect?
You could try on puks on firesday as well with a bst. An elemental spell corresponding to the elemental day gives them 100% TP, but I'm not sure if it applies to elemental JA(or non-damage inducing spells). I guess you could use quickdraw to verify if it does.
hate to nitpick, but its actually a really bad idea to be using elemental ninjitsu. not only does it not generate much hate, but you're giving the mob 10 tp for a majority of like 1-5 dmg ninjutsus. Bio is also a bad idea for this same reason. stick to stun/bind/sleep/absorb/kuray/hojo spells based on your mp regen.Originally Posted by Amele

Does Ugg. Pendant work with merit MP or do I need to have a base MP pool from a mage sub?
I know this has been discussed and tested over and over, but Soil Gorget or Chiv Chain for Rampage? Used search but didn't really find anything close to definitive

Actually that's wrong. Chiv Chain or Charm is best for Rampage, not Soil.

I'm not sure how much of the information was lost when BG went down, but there was a good bunch of data in this thread indicating that gorget bonuses only increased the accuracy and damage of the first hit of weaponskills, meaning it shouldn't be very effective for ws like asuran, rampage, vorpal blade, etc., and that torque or PCC would be a better alternative. I imagine c. chain would still edge out gorget for rampage if the data in that thread was true.
i tend to wear my af2 hat full time. however let me explain why and variations in explaining the question about af1 vs. yigit.Originally Posted by spooky
its my understanding that(and of course all this shit is situational, as any good blm knows) for best results, af1 for tier4s, yigit for am2 and -aga3s. also, say that you're soloing a pudding and doing t4 > b4 > am2, open with the tier4 rather than am2 so that you don't waste the mp from af1/af2.
personally, as an elvaan blm, i leave my af2 head on for the mp and elemental skill almost full time. the exception to this is on the day that i have an obi for. then i'll adapt my macro to swap in my af1 or yigit for nukes.
i just hate resists so very very much, and soloing, if that thunder4 lands for 677 dmg, it can mean the difference between not only losing the chain but getting your ass killed. perhaps my mindset will change once i've finished meriting my elemenal skill, but it works very nicely for me. plus it looks freakin awesome on elvaans :D
Haven't camped Kings much so...
What was days for HQ spawn, I know no % chance until day 4...but what was max and what % chance would you say there is for each day? (3-8 days is what I think it is, but not sure)
I've seen it go to day 10 before.
there may not be a well defined percentage (I never paid that much attention honestly, just that the camping sure as hell picks up past day 6) except that the likelihood increases each day approaching but never quite reach 'will definitely pop'.
basically, it's a lottery pop with the NQ after day 4. (and if you've done enough lower level lottery pops, you know how 'late' the mob can be in this sort of spawn system.)
I believe it's only use yigit head if you're magic bursting or casting non-mb AM2, and you can reliably go unresisted. Either way, it matters tens of damage.Originally Posted by Rocl
Mijin works on JoTemperance, so I think it's non-elemental. I remember reading a lj of someone doing a test on it in besieged, and came up with the conclusion that barfire doesn't help, only things like shell, mdb, etc.Originally Posted by Amele

There is no max. Longest I've personally seen was 14 days or so, but there is always a chance for NQ to pop no matter how long it goes.Originally Posted by Kris
Interesting thing though, is that as it gets later and later, you can predict when HQ or NQ will pop. After a few days into window, a friend of mine would give me two windows, one for HQ, one for NQ. She was right every time, and it blew my fucking mind.
Merited MP works fine with Ugg. Pendant, so long as you can get it to less than half the current. Base MP from a mage sub is not required to activate the latent effect.Does Ugg. Pendant work with merit MP or do I need to have a base MP pool from a mage sub?
If you're using a job that has no natural MP, say COR/RNG, but have merit MP, you can activate the latent easily by swapping in and out the Cassie Earring, which would convert 50 MP to HP, then back, leaving you at 30/80 thus giving you +MAB for your Quick Draw ability.
Figured this would be the place to ask it:
Do you need ToA installed in order to raise chocobos? I've always wondered why they included it on the ToA website even though I think you just need your license. How about that quest where you get the egg or chocobo racing? I think the circuit is considered a ToA area, but you don't actually go to it for the current races.
Sorc ring latent
I have gear swaps that put me at 718hp, which is 74% of my natural hume hp. When I have my zmitts on, I'm at 79% but still at 718hp, I've read that the ring is still active with zmitts on. True or false?
Under 76% of your base HP with gear on. Any equipment that reads "Converts xx HP to MP" does not count towards your base HP, however gear with -HP does.Originally Posted by Heywood
