Against Khim I did not notice any difference with Warlock's Roll, but I would imagine that I also wouldn't notice a difference with 50+ more enfeebling skill as well. Some mobs are designed to suck for Red Mages.Originally Posted by Potentate

This one time at Khimaira, I totally absorbed his CHR and followed it up with absorbing his MND. Then of course, Para and Slow II were resisted.
Totally nub question, I know but...
Been camping LL for about a week now for boots for THF
0/16 on the dorp so far, but thats not It
first 13 times, no boots but would get like 2 skins or skin and a tail
last 3 times no boots, no skin, no tail, no nothing... just 20 xp (18 thf)
Anyone happen to this before? >_>
i usually get zero drops of any kind from him. damn lizard is a bastard.Originally Posted by Guyverarmor

the only reason my group won our first attempt was a zombie blm with a pro-ether, an active elemental seal timer and a 'him or me' mentality.Originally Posted by Tradition
but hell. I love bards for everything so you'd get my vote! (I'd just drag a blackmage along anyway .. )
4-2 can be manaburned, either is acceptable really. I've never fought it with normal strat though, I went in as blm blm rdm rdm whm smn ages ago >.> So come to think of it, since brd has no ballad2, blm is probably more preferable.
I was always under impression that parry couldn't block tp moves, but this was a skill up shot I got earlier today. I doubt my log decided to eat a line (or lines, where's my Oats dmg?) since I never had that happen before. Or maybe it's one of the evaded hits... Anyway, somebody probably knows more of this:

I got more images of that moment to rule out lag, can post them too.
Another thing I wondered when I was skilling my guard, since it's a pdif reduction of 1.0 how does it handle crits? Can they be guarded and if they can, is it still displayed as a crit in the log or gets the message of a normal hit? I wish I could have checked for animation of guarding during these SS's but I was busy dual boxing a WHM. So a question for the math kids: Can crits go this low normally, 15, 17 and 19 dmg from the pics below, not guarded with 513 def, -25% dmg in gear? "Normal" crits were in the 40-80 range on these Korrigans in that setup.

Got more of these SS's.
You could always parry physical TP moves, it's just impossible to tell you parried it rather than evaded unless you get a parry skill-up in the process, since it will always show up as "Mob uses TP move on player but misses.", "Player evades", or not in the log at all.Originally Posted by Appie

Pretty sure it wasn't uncommon to see parry skillups off of Whirl of Rage back when people exped on weapons.
Somewhere, some place I once saw a formula to calculate drain/aspir. And in that formula it showed how increased Dark skill would increase the potency of those spells instead of a magic skill only improving accuracy.
Anyone else remember the formula?
Which WS specificly benefit more from sea torques than gorget?
I always hear "multi-hit WS'es", but they never actually say which... so which ones is it??
WSs that hit more than once and rely heavily on acc
guillotine is a good one
dancing egde not so much, because u usually SA+TA it
eviscaration
etc...
Anyone knows the exact MDB/Magic reduc% value from Shellra V(lv.3) and Shell IV.
Wiki says about Shellra V: "Reduces magic damage by 62/256 (~24.2%).
Each additional Merit upgrade increases this effect by 2/256 (~0.8%)."
is that exact?!
and also very curious about Shell IV value, since Bahamut V2 Roars/Dispelga so much >.< that its too dangerous for a WHM to run in everytime for Shellra V. knowing Shell IV value will affect my gear set-up for eating Flares.
Please halp!!!
Tarutaru BLU/NIN in the 40-50 lv range, wearing PCC and Acc swords, should use :
- Sniper x2 and Attack food
- Puissance x2 and Acc food
- MP Rings and Acc food
?
Acc rings and attack food, macro in STR rings for SATA, and sub /thf. Subbing /nin pretty stupid at that level range in exp. I would switch to sushi at like 55-ish.Originally Posted by Tomino
The wiki info is correct. There's a more detailed discussion and tests in a thread on these forums, and the tests we did start here: viewtopic.php?p=538365#p538365Originally Posted by Godwulf
An easily-understood way to interpret the difference between Shell IV and Shell V 3/3 is to say it's a 5%~7.2% reduction in magic damage, depending on gear the tank is wearing, assuming you don't exceed the cap.
(Edit: Sorry you asked about shell IV, it's 56/256.)
Appie: you can guard a critical hit. It still shows up as a critical hit, but the damage it deals will be consistent with a normal, unguarded hit. Which makes sense, since critical = +1 pdif, guard = -1 pdif, so guarded critical = no modification to pdif.
i thought it was /THF from 60 to 70 and then back to /NIN, guess i'm wrong?Subbing /nin pretty stupid at that level range in exp.
