Could be a mandragora, I usually just end up killing anything and everything and Unut pops eventually.
Oh man, I have such bad memories about that NM. The very first time I actually camped a NM for an item and right about 2 hours into camping it someone else shows up and claims&kills and just buggers off again. Damn did I get pissedOriginally Posted by Amele
and for such a minor NM too.
Can blue mages learn spells if an alliance member kills it?
Yes, as long as the mob used the move.Originally Posted by LinktheDeme

Why SE won't allow me to spam both Salvage and Nyzul Assault?![]()

Monks can never reach 8 hits with just h2h attacks, just 6 with Faith h2h & /war (7 including the kick). If you're referring to WS attacks, monks can't kick in a WS.Originally Posted by LD
As for other jobs, you'd have to be equipping a h2h weapon with Bahamut's Hose, or Strike Subligar to get a kick attack, and I'm not sure why you'd want to do that.
While on that topic, do you guys just spam stun, or wait a second or two before stunning? Kinda nit picky, but I get really frustrated when I let something through. My cpu is fast enough that I get practically no lag during most fights.Originally Posted by residue

I'm well aware of the fact that it's nearly impossible to test, I just wanted to see if anyone could pull a real answer out of their ass. Even if it were possible to have Faith and Triple at the same time, the number of strikes you would have to make to get triple & faith to proc on both fists and THEN get Kick Attack to proc....it'd probably take weeks to collect enough data. It procs based on the attack round, not the number of attacks in that round (unlike DA & TA), so it's possible a full 8 punches could be thrown and a kick fire off as well, but I just thought I'd throw the idea around.
Like a tree falling in the forest, one hand clapping sort of thing.
assuming that kicks are counted as an attack (I don't see why they wouldn't be, since every other attack is counted as an attack) the answer is "yes, they count against the 8 hit limit". if for some reason kicks are not treated as an attack, then no, they would not count to the 8 hit limit.Originally Posted by LD
until SE releases a h2h weapon that occasionally attacks 2-8 times or some similar, it's not going to matter.
unrelated, recently was told that critical hits can only occur on WS where crit chance varies by tp (that is, you -can't- crit on a damage or accuracy varied ws). this sounds false to me, although only anecdotally, since I've never really run calculations against any of my high ws's to see if a crit could be the answer. anyone know for sure?
Pretty sure that's not true, I've criticaled on weaponskills like Spirit Taker and Savage Blade before without the use of a THF sub, crit merits, or crit equipment, and niether of those WS have a crit TP mod.Originally Posted by Amele

good. thanks for the fast responses - makes me feel alot better about randomly cracking 700+ in the 50's without double attack tp.Originally Posted by Vaxx

Kicks do not proc on WSs, DA/TA do. Kicks activate once at the end of an attack round, DA/TA activate once per attepted swing. DA/TA does not proc with Kicks (however, they don't proc with each other, either.)
It's obviously not a normal strike, so the question is where it's even out of the range of DA/TA.
Kick Attacks also have an independent damage rating from punches.Originally Posted by LD
I'd say it does count as one of the eight "strikes", but it functions as its own independent swing.
'attack' 'strike' - pure english language semantics. I'll use 'swing' and 'attack round' from here.Originally Posted by LD
you're slicing too finely. what you've got is:
1. swing primary hand / weapon
1a. traditional multihit? OR double attack OR triple attack?
1b. sea weapon multihit?
2. swing secondary hand / weapon
2a. traditional multihit? OR double attack OR triple attack?
2b. sea weapon multihit?
3. Kick attack?
given that kicks are obviously a separate step in the attack round, they are mostly likely treated the same way as a second hand/weapon.
from this we can draw circumstantial evidence from the behavior of kclub/ridill dual-wielding: if the kclub processes 8 swings in one attack round, the ridill doesn't swing at all. - thus the reason that I stated that, unless the kick attack is treated as a unique and beautiful butterfly (and no reason for it to be such, since monks can't swing 8 times in one attack round currently anyway) then it would presumably be subject to the 8 swing limit.
given when in the attack round the kick attack swing processes, I would tend toward saying that the kick attack would just not proc in the case where you have 'exceeded' the 8 swing limit to one attack round.
PERFECT! Well Done.
That's the kind of thought that should be given to every question.
I am currently training to become an excellent ninjar. Do most ninja carry elemental wheel ninja tools in their backpack when exping? I'm trying to save inventory space and don't want to bother carrying them if they are only good of shits and giggles (and BCNM).
Ninjas that do wheel-only usually are the type that don't Berserk or whatever and end up losing hate because they like to poke the mob for 8-16 damage every 1.5 seconds.
I'd say carry appropriate wheel tools on you. What I mean by appropriate: The strongest feature of the wheel is not the damage, but the fact that you reduce resistances to other elements. Take into account your party setup and carry the appropriate tools.
