In the interest of not taking up too much space, I will not quote, but it is the truth. Not having Lu is like being a Jedi with a steak knife. It gets fewer line snaps, and the "equally good at large + small fish" thing really is a big deal, especially since some valuable fish break "small fish" rods but are "too small" for rods like the composite. Plus, many locations have large and small fish mixed together, and both are desirable.

Ebisu is e-peen, to be sure, but you can catch any valuable fish (that sells well) you like and get to 96 doing it with Lu.

I haven't tested if all lower tier bard songs are the same but ballad 1 does have a slightly greater range than ballad 2. I didn't realize it was that much, but yeah, you get used to it once you notice it.

Hard to debuff, so I doubt it. You can duo the regular fomors NIN/RDM and THF/RDM easily as I have recently done, but I don't think even with NIN/RDM that you can stick buffs on it long enough to help with shadows. RNG mobs sucks ass.

Been more like 60-70%, religiously getting killing blow on those. Normally not such a "zomg let me kill for TH plz" fanatic, but on Swift Belt it's been pretty helpful to me somehow.

I have to suggest that people who come along to help out carry a spare codex, since it sucks to leave when you've farmed for hate for ages, and two people still have hate to pop, but codexes ran out. :3

To add to that- (or clarify if you don't feel like reading on wiki)

String skill is odd, in that depending on the song level vs. your string skill, the range will vary from 10 (Which is the static Wind distance) to...17? I'm not really sure on the max.

Thus Ballad 2 has a shorter range than Ballad 1 (If your skill sucks). Personally I'm usually in the mage PT when I'm in dynamis, so I just stick a harp and go at it >:3

back in the day people used to fishbot Rusty caps in like...rabao, then use Smithing (low level, like 30 something or some shit) and synthed into a plain cap, which NPCd back in the day for a shitload of gil, like 5k per cap, was awesome.

Ninjedit: SE nerfed their sellback price down to 1 gil ahahahaha;

I think you left out the little nasty part of it: billions and billions of gil was made this way and inflated the market greatly. Though it was nerfed, it's effect were felt for a very long time. Nowadays, with the bans, it's finally diminished completely.
