Yeah, and the only reason light crystals were expensive back then was because the entire light crystal market was going to the Plain Cap synthers <_<;;
It really really tanked after that nerf came about, I was amused.
Also I'll continue the question thread with my own!
DRK/THF with a Great Axe til 60 or no? (I have WAR65 workin on 70 atm, so skiling up scythe/GS isn't a problem to keep them capped :D)
I think the first time I tried for Swift Belt, I had 1 codex...the next time I had 2, and the time after that I brought like 3. I think Roe brought 4 or 5 that time, haha; that belt just hates some people. You do have to find people to hold the extras as you farm them up, but it's worth it. If you get the drop early, you can always just sell/give away the extra codexes depending on how well you know people/how nice you are.Originally Posted by Baha
I personally like fighting Galka > Hume > Mithra > Elvaan, in order of difficulty/shittiness. I've never even tried the Taru. The Mithra isn't as bad as I thought (enjoys wasting Chainspell casting lots of Blink, which is retarded since she has Utsusemi), but the Galka is just sad. The Elvaan will make your NINs cry. I've read about BSTs duoing some of the NMs without too much trouble, one solo kill, and I've personally farmed for subligars with a 2-houred Blubber Eyes.
I'd guess no, because it wouldn't disturb the board at all which is the single and main detracting quality of a necrobump. If it's not relatively useful information you might look like an idiot, though.Originally Posted by doofusofodin
A couple RDM questions:
Someone mentioned earlier about stuns overlapping in Chainstun. Is it better to not stack dark skill during Chainstun? Or does it not make a difference with RDM's low native skill?
What's a mob's "hate radius," beyond which actions don't count towards hate? Specifically wondering about a safe distance to Convert + DS Cure 4. I usually hit around 30', but it'd be nice to know if I could do it closer.
i can't answer your second question, but to your first:Originally Posted by japetus
stacking dark skill can increase the potency and duration of your stuns. this is coming as a black mage, not a rdm(leveling it, but not there yet). the only time i wouldn't recommend going overboard on dark skill is DL. torque/earring/cape are all awesome, but we tell our rdms not to wear crimson finger gauntlets on DL because we tend to low man DL and getting intimidated is teh suck.
How the fuck does charybdis work?
Wiki says 8-24 respawn, people ingame tell me 8-12 or 8-16. Which one is it?
8h+, and can be over 24h. Probably 1% chance to pop or something shitty
Someone said to justify his DRK/DRG that jump with kclub still gets the 2-8 bonus just wondering if this is true.
Yes this is true, for both regular and high jumps. I've seen some impressive jumps, like 1300ish I think, maybe more.Originally Posted by LinktheDeme
There's only so many bits of +drk skill gear it's even worthwhile to carry around as a RDM and the odds of stun being resisted are so low that I don't think it's worth it to stack +skill for CS stun. I tend to just go all out on -enmity for CS stun, it makes a bigger difference to the overall fight (esp if it's longer than 30 seconds).Originally Posted by japetus
I don't use distance plugin so can't give exact number for a safe DS+CureIV but I've found the same rule of thumb work as for magic/sound aggro distance. If the mob is outside your compass radar it doesn't care what you do. Granted RDM doesn't get innate radar markings for enemies but if you ever go /NIN, /THF or level a job that has enemies marked on radar you get a feel for it fast.
What you can also do is target the mob, then run away. When you get to the point that your cursor drops off the mob you'll know that you're in a safe range to DS Cure IV yourself.Originally Posted by Vigilia
The inside zones of sea's colour changes frequently- how often? what order? I never managed to catch it the exact moment it changes
someone please tell me they've noticed this too and I'm not crazy![]()
every time someone touches the ebon panels. ^^Originally Posted by Rocl

could it change like the color of the smoke from the burner in the al zhabi rent-a-room based on the day?
Cursor drops off point is 50'. . . .I think out of hate range is 25' from what I can tell from soloing NMs on BST.Originally Posted by Credos
I don't think it changes as frequently as the day- I think the best way to explain it is it's like someone put in a coloured light bulb, so it was all white and the walls were really pale, then it's a greenish glow and the walls are greenish goldOriginally Posted by Spekkio
I was under the impression that this was the difference between lolPS2 and PC versions. I'm not alone in my green sea castle?Originally Posted by Rocl

Nah, color does change from green to blue..to something else? No idea how it change either, but I'm certain it does on both ps2 and pc.
