Only screenshot I've seen of it made it look like 100% para proc (this was in that Ganiman thread a year ago or so).Originally Posted by Spekkio

alright, takehome messages are:
1.) i'm stupid.
2.) para potions proc a SICK ammount (there's gotta be SOME use for that... maybe if you know you'll be charmed on a job w/ h2h, or before a 100 fists for some lols)
3.) flagellant's rope is still lol
4.) i need to take my own advice and search before i ask dumb questions.
thanks for all who replied. ^^
the added effect: Haste from Catastrophe was proven to be gear haste wasn't it?Originally Posted by Spekkio
if it was, that'll hit haste cap.
pretty sure it was, but i'm trying to figure out how an average joe like me with limited cash could make a kclub replacement. given the limited budget caveat, catastrophe is kinda out of my reach. ^^
the BZ is only 24 dmg though, that can't ever be worth using even if it proc'd the max hits every swing.
And k-club is 11 damage.Originally Posted by Swampthing
the point of souleater zerg is to get the most hits out as you can for SE to proc on, the base damage is not that important :X
not on a weapon that can attack 8 times, but when you're only hitting 1-2 times normally then why bother?
Due to Hasso from SAM sub and Desperate blows + llast resort, thats an additional 25% haste and 10 accuracy your tacking on that you couldn't get with a kraken. I'd assume one hit, two hit, and three hits all have an equal chance of happening (like with k-club), correct me if I'm wrong.
For whatever reason, lets say unpaid fee's; how long is the length of time before an account is deleted and when does the name become available in the name pool? Is it still a year?
dont forget the massive accuracy and attack difference between an A+ skill 2hander and an E skill 1 hander.Originally Posted by diony

a high end haste setup for dark is 20% (can get 25 with drk/drg..lulz)
you have 20+43.7 = 63.7 vs 20+43.7+25 = 88.7
264 * .363 = 95.8 / 4 = 23.95 -> 24
480 * .113 = 54.24 / 2 = 27.12 -> 28
4 delay difference. for ... more than double the D:#(BZ will hit for more than double the kclub pre SE and yes, it does add up.), 57 free attack, 60 free accuracy, and 5 strength.
actually, there's some pretty compelling reasons to go /drg. the haste earring is among the forefront of them, but also jump/high jump are notable. both are extra attack rounds that according to all my reading can proc the kclub again, effectively buying a free attack round each. in addition, high jump erases half of your hate, allowing a drk to shed some of the unbelievably high hate he's accrued, thus survivng a bit longer. /drg also comes with a meek accuracy bonus trait, though that's probably minor. the biggest (only) loss over /nin that i can think of is obviously ditching the blinks /nin comes with. this can be somewhat compensated for with aerial armor, gimp as it might be in comparison.
BZ takes more support and a good drk to get full potential, any AH drk can put up good #'s with k-club. make more sense? :D
You're also forgetting he is an "average joe" with a "limited budget" which more than likely implies he isn't going to be fighting Bahamut any time soon. And the Octave club is worthless at 75, since 75 is not evenly divisible by 2 or 8.
So if the melee damage not counting the added souleater damage is able to compare with the souleater damage of double the swings with a kraken club, then by all means try to round 17 other people and go do Bahamut![]()
with a kc/oc you want to single wield anyway, so /drg is a possibility.Originally Posted by Spekkio
with bz or apoc you want the extra 10% haste from /sam so /drg is a mistake; just merit muted soul or something.
I actually gave them the same support (SV march+haste) but honestly; if you're in a serious zerg situation and *aren't* getting march+haste then there's something wrong. (we can do it without SV though) and with nq haste gear (dusk gloves, dusk feet, turban, swift = 14%)Originally Posted by Drunkenmonk

so a little less than double delay for 90* accuracy, 107* attack, and double the D#. that'd.. be alot less clear cut. I could see the argument going both ways depending on what your accuracy was with the kc.
*I forgot the doubled dex and strength effect!
just. wow. gil in pocket does not imply capability (or lack thereof) to do fights for ex gear. and of course I was implying that you would delevel to 72 for OC (because a 72 OC dark is a better zerg job than 75 drk no kc/bz/apoc) and I made the (fair) assumption that drk75 was not his only job.Originally Posted by Swampthing
and I just proved to you that it's not "double the swings" for fuck's sake. or do you just gloss over any math harder than 5th grade?
edit: about rune chopper (just saw your post) it's going to be slower than all the choices discussed so far at peak; but it does let you cover for some missing haste gear.
25+43.7+25 = 93.3(cap)
504 * .067 = 33.8 (and just gets worse from there)
