    Re: Random Question Thread

I know that the Dragoon AF2 body always gives the same bonuses, from my own experience with it. Lumiere always has auto-regen when I call her /Whm, and always has Double Attack when I call her /War. I've also heard conflicting reports about other abilities, and haven't had a chance to parse her to see if she gains things like Attack Bonus/Defense Bonus from /War. Some people report that the Wyvern gains the JTs of a Dragoon, and thus has Accuracy Bonus II, and others; I know this is true of Dragon Killer, since I've seen her intimidate Sea Puks while soloing.

It would be interesting if someone with a parser went out and got their wyvern tanking a weaker mob to see if it gained Attack Bonus/Defense Bonus from /War; if both its attack and defense go up, we could probably assume that it does NOT gain the traits of a Drg (since Drg has its own Attack Bonus I trait).

I'm sure you found this out while researching, but to keep the trait on your wyvern you'll need to have the Wyrm Mail on every time you zone. To be precise, you need to have the Mail on when you call your wyvern, and zoning counts as calling a new one (for whatever reason). From my own playing around with Auto-Regen, I've found that if you call a wyvern in one zone without using the mail, then put the mail on and zone into the next area, it will have the auto-regen trait; simply putting the mail on after calling the wyvern does nothing. So as long as you have the mail on when you zone, regardless of any prior state, your wyvern will have your subjob traits.

I know they get both store TP and zanshin when /sam.. so I wouldn't be surprised if they gain -all- traits.

Wyverns have dragon killer by default, has nothing to due with wyrm mail. I imagine it is due to them being calculated as a drg mob, since nothing else really makes sense. No mp, no double attack/store tp/triple attack/kick attacks/etc., and they have dragon killer. This would mean they should also have attack/acc bonus by default, and maybe acc bonus II since the update.

Is it possible the wyvern gains multiple subjob traits with wyrm mail? I think the easiest way to eyeball it would be /sam with store TP and zanshin.

EDIT: You answered my question while I was typing it lol.

Flame would probably be your best bet, would cover wheeling thrust and full swing. You wouldn't really want to use a gorget for penta or skewer. For impulse drive (idk if they fixed it?) you would need shadow, soil, or snow. Soil would only work for impulse drive btw.

You could get a Shadow for Penta. It's a little bit of a toss up between using Love/Peacock/Chiv, but haven't seen a lot of respectable data to say which is better. I'm still in the process of getting last Yovra for Shadow.

I can't imagine anything being better than Love torque now with the dex=acc thing. that's like a peacock charm with attack on it now.

I have Light/Shadow, which I used for Wheeling/Penta. I got Love torque and stopped using Shadow for Penta, but still use Light for Wheeling. I typically hit 1192 standard Wheeling with Gorget on birds with all typical buffs.

gorgets are better for single hits no matter what (multihits it's in the air, yeah.) gorgets are most likely better for 2 (and maybe 3?) hit weaponskills too, even if they don't affect hits after the first.

    Oooor even perdu/haya maybe?

Need some rank before I can get perdu is why the double options.

(yes I know there's a katana thread it would be about a 1 year necro and haya were very rare then and nobody knew how perdu worked yet)
    Senji / Perdu
or (and I don't like this combo, but it is second best)
    Unji / Perdu

Anything else is just there to give me a headache
you mean perdu / unji right? ( U/P makes my teeth itch >.>; )
P/U and U/P doesn't really make much difference: same WRank, same bonus, etc, etc.

The quest "Moogles In The Wild". Do you need to wait the next tally until the moogle gives you the expansion? I've given it the 2 items needed earlier this morning, yet I still can't get the last expansion.

I agree 100%, but with the only exception to this being maybe Justice Torque for Samurai.
I think I've heard that the difference between Gorget and Torque for Samurai is so little that honestly I wouldn't even bother to bring the Gorget with me or to Macroswap it (Inventory+1 ftw).

Dunno if this is confirmed, but we're in the noob forum so I guess I'm authorized to shoot noob sentences :D

(just looked up unji again; why did I think it was D31? *shrugs*) yeah, you're right - doesn't matter which is first

    3 Random questions.

    1. When a THF is in a party, does it matter how far the THF is to trigger the TH drop?
    2. For WHM xp parties at 40-75, would they focus on MP > MND?
    3. Could a BST with Temperance Axe and Ridill out tp a WAR with Ridill?

1.- Placebo answer: a) make sure THF at least does some dmg to the mob b) make sure thief is close enough to get experience points from kill, even on mobs that dont give xp.

2.- hMP is were its at for WHM, MND will be useful for the occasional lolEnfeeble, extra MP is always handy. But nobody will really give a fuck about what you wear (either MND or MP) as long as you can keep everyone with safe HP and Hasted, protected, shelled.

Edit: thanks poster below, yeah i mean for WHM40-70ish

    Re: Random Question Thread

refresh, cure potency, enmity-, cure speed/fast cast, are all better than max mp in your standing set.

for resting: hmp all the way - then mp as possible.

enfeebles are best helped by enfeebling skill gear higher level (primary pieces pre 75 are torque and AF body ) you can stick pretty well on exp mobs if you have a decent amount of +skill, mind in other slots.

if you aren't going to do gear swaps, good slots for mp are rings/earrings.

Flash duration (3 seconds instead of 2.5 ) is modified by Divine Magic only? does MND play a role even if minimal?
