When using SA or TA on THF, does the bonus from DEX or AGI is calculated with the gear you wear when you use the ability or with the gear you wear when you hit the mob ?
Lum Tissue sucks, where is the best place to get it? I always hear the high tier flowers are best, but no, I got 1 tissue in 3 hours. While working on light/dark obi's, getting Xzomit organs (right next to sealions), I went 3/10 in an hour. Is there a better place, or anyone else have better experiances with a certain mob?
You will get plenty of them if it isn't what you are targetting. I get a lot when I'm duoing the Aerns in Hu'Xzoi for HQ organs for their cape and for exp.

Elvaan Blm soloing, Penitents Robe (-20HP 5INT 5MND Enmity-3) or Forest Rope (60mps -4DEX +4INT)
I have both and I know that the best solution would be to toss first nuke in forest then switch to Penitents, but i dont really like having a first time nuke gear then switch (im lazy not way around it >_>), so basically its a 60mp vs. 1INT.
Maximizing int makes nukes more efficient but this seems like a good trade-off right?
since you are soloing, i'd say the RSE rope. the -enmity doesnt matter since you are by yourself, and penitent also has -20 HP.
this seems flawed to me.Originally Posted by Woozie
90->94.5 is a relative hit over time boost of approximately 5%
.03 / .05 = .6 so you'd need approximately 37% haste (not 67%) to get the equivalent boost in haste.
10000 delay to get say, (100 hits at 90% accuracy with 37% haste)
9532 delay at 94.5% (+9 acc)
9523 delay at 40% haste (+3 haste)
I'm not sure where you got your math wrong off hand, just that your conclusions were flawed.
-20HP on an Elvaan is lol, if you have both i would use penitents, for the lol extra 5 dmg <.<a, unless you are going for chains, where 60MP can be handy for SS, and Drains.
60mp will far over shadow 1int, I currently use Mithra RSE which is +45mp and -1int compared to rope, and notice that extra 45mp helping rather than the +1int and -45mp. If BLM belt ever decides to drop, ill probably switch over to that though, -45mp -20hp for +2int is meh, but int is int and it helps. 1000mp for a mithra nuke gear is hot.
If you find yourself needing 60mp frequently; you couldnt get that last sleep/drain/aspir off, cuse you ran out, you couldnt get that last T4 off cuse you were a bit shy of its mp, then it's probably a good idea to keep the mp. Also a toss up since your elv and your int sucks, so every bit helps.
If you have the gil/inventory space, use both. Cast your first nuke after full healing in the RSE belt to use up that MP, then switch to Penitents. Do the same thing with AF+1 Hat -> Demon +1. Being smart about your MP usage without unnecessarily gimping your damage is the key to fast kills and short downtimes.
Don't forget, -HP is a good thing if you utilize a Sorcerer's Ring. Especially for an elvaan.

Just as you said.
My mistake was that I put x= 9 instead of 4.5
That gives:
h = 100 - 3*(1+90/9) = 67.
Thanks for pointing that out. I'll edit my post. Also, I'm starting to think I made the same mistake in my other calculations. I'll check those and see.
Edit: Yes, I did in fact make the exact same mistake on every single calculatioin....
Quci question about NIN neck pieces:
I currently have a Chiv chain and breeze gorget, which one should I Jin in? Also when I finally get a PCC which should I Jin in? For merits parties with normal gear/merits/food.
I jin in PCC. Stuffed my gorget away in my locker because I'm not risking it sucking for multi hit.Originally Posted by Similli
Speaking of Jin, O-kote or AF+1? Shit is situational, so explain the situations and the reasoning, please.
I just asked a similar question a few weeks back and the basic response is that sea gorgets are better for big 1-2 hit WS, whereas 3+ WS are more suited for PCC.Originally Posted by Similli
all of the above is *tentatively.
no one has done a large enough test to get an answer that wasn't within margin of error.
it's also important to note that the tests were done with 8 hit asuran fists (which responds the most to accuracy bonus) and that the 2-3 cutoff was hypothesized under the assumption that the gorgets only affect the first hit but definitely affect it more than PCC does.
Can you explain this formula? What do the different variables stand for?Equilibrium: h = 100 - p*(1+a/x)
Chigoes hit me on BLU/WAR (geared up for little damage) for 11 damage about 80% of the time. I assume that is a 1.0 pdif or lower, since I have about 800 defense, and its so damn consistant. But, they crit me for around 44 damage every time, indicating that when they crit they have 4.0pdif.. what the fuck?
You have to read my on the previous page. All of the math is explained in blue text. In comparing two pieces of gear, one of which has a haste bonus and the other has an accuracy bonus, p is the amount of haste you'd be adding with the piece of gear in question. A is your base accuracy percentage. x is the amount of accuracy percentage you're adding onto your base by equipping the other piece of gear in equation.Originally Posted by Aireiya
For example, if you're comparing Amir boots and Dusk feet, x is 3 (because 6 acc gives 3% hit rate) and p is 2 (because dusk gives 2% haste). H is the amount of haste you have before equipping the haste gear for the slot in question.
Equilibrium is just the term I use to describe the point in which both pieces of gear give you the same amount of connected hits per period of time. If your ACC or haste his higher than the equilibrium amounts, the haste option will give more connected hits over time than the ACC option, and vice versa.
The math is easy to adjust for situations where a piece (or both pieces you're comparing) have both ACC and haste on it. I don't feel like explaining it now, but it's so easy that you'll probably figure it out yourself if you think about it.
It's the relation of haste vs. accuracy. it's worded a little weirdly.Originally Posted by Aireiya

a is base accuracy (I think) and that should make x the amount of accuracy you add (again I think; I skimmed all his substitutions)
