Da definitely misses *fume@18% Tp WC'D Raging Rushes* during WS now and then.
Always funny to get like a 4% Tp return too.
As for the additional hits, I thought that store Tp fractions could carry and "bump" the added hits Tp up occasionally.
I thought this because I have 18% normal RR tp return, I get 20% a lot, but 19% and 21% are both fairly uncommon.
If 21% isn't due to fractions being carried over, that would indicate a 3x Double proc, which would fit with the generally "zomgwtflol" damage produced, but I always thought it was limited to 2 DA's max.
As for Gaxe earring question.
Minuet, Fowling, Assault, Merman's, Hollow, Diabolos's, Fenrir's (Day/Vampire Night), and what have you.
I Steel Cyclone in Str+2 because I don't have Vampire or Fenrir's, but I'd use those depending on the time of day (I'd probably just Tp in Vampire earring at night, 4 att, 4 str), I Raging Rush in Minuet til I beat AN and get a lolhollow earring, because the WS has turned me into a Dex whore, so I try to maintain a 1:1 or so ratio on Str/Dex, as it's just worked the best so far.
I don't think regular demons have a 50% resistance (I know in Dynamis-Xarc they do) it's more like 25%? on the regular mobsOriginally Posted by fantasticdan
Can DA four times in Raging Rush, the theory is every swing has a chance to DA so... Technically should be able to get up to four hits. But the odds of a 4 DA RR is .16% with 100% accuracy and a 20% chance to DA. Even less when you include accuracy.
Doing quick math all in all it looks like this... With 100% accuracy and a 20% chance to DA:
1 DA: 40.96%
2 DA: 15.36%
3 DA: 2.56%
4 DA: .16%
Now with 90% accuracy and the same 20% chance to DA:
1 DA: 24.17%
2 DA: 8.16%
3 DA: 1.22%
4 DA: .069%
And, with a more common build that is a little less accurate at 85% and with a 15% chance to DA:
1 DA: 16.35%
2 DA: 3.69%
3 DA: .368%
4 DA: .0138%
So yeah, it's uncommon for obvious reasons but it's definitely believed to be possible. Personally, my highest RR about 2 years ago was a 3x DA on RR for about 2.6k in Dynamis.
And I've personally never seen a second hit give more than 1 extra TP. Technically I should get two TP for every DA if that were true, but I sure don't.
I disagree. Leveling SAM, during my Enpi and Jinpu days I would get either 14, 15, 16, or 18 TP return, even without getting hit after WS. 17 never, ever happened. Only way an 18 return would be possible would be a 2x DA with TP of 14.4 + 1.2*3, which works out perfectly with 26 Store TP.Originally Posted by RKenshin
With SAM sub I've never obtained a 19% guillotine on DRK, it's always 16, 17, 18, or 20 (not counting DA's, which have brought me up to 21 and 22), store TP has to play a part into the extra hits.
I've never requested an AF piece before. I was wondering if I could just go up and talk to Zeid again(i think he starts it) to redo my drk AF3 quest after I dropped it.
you need to get your memory erased. there's an npc in jeuno who does it but I can't remember who it is offhand.. vinjigard in lower maybe?Originally Posted by Royal
It doesn't really make sense though.
According to Store TP formulas I should be getting a TP return of 2 extra TP for an additional swing. Even with SAM rolls it's still a 1 TP retun on a DA. And, then Tachi:Jinpu with DA's would definitely skip a TP value, but it doesn't.
So yeah, no clue now.
I'm still editing/cleaning the TP page on BGWiki... but I'm not sure if I ever read something like this
Can anyone confirm this?Melee hits: You will gain 1/3rd of the TP the monster gains
That's what I was afraid of. Other than Dynamis, I can't really think of a worthwhile usage for FS at all. I'll probably just fore-go FS and max out Pen/Invig.Originally Posted by Deftscythe

not sure how to confirm it; I'll try to check with the original author and see if we can source it.Originally Posted by VZX
I know I've gotten increments other than '2' for being hit; I always chalked it up to Store TP and fractional tp gain.
anything that becomes immune to physical attacks or has a native resistance to blunt damage. that said though, the only things i can think of that are physical immune are mobs that use invincible (basically dyna and a few other places), hydra, and ultima. couple more i'm not thinking of i'm sure and more that are simply resistant. still, since it doesn't extend to WS, it's a short duration, and all the other problems with it, it's likely just not worth the bother.Originally Posted by Epical

the easiest way to check this might be with beast. let a fast hitting mob like chigoe hit you several times, charm, check mob tp. if the value /3 is how much you gained and it's different than 2*hits we've resolved it.
a secondary test would be with something that attacks very slow - any volunteer beastmasters around?
Pretty certain it's always 2 outside of Store TP effecting it. Which, I'm pretty sure it does since on SAM I get three sometimes iirc.Originally Posted by VZX
? You'd need 200 Store TP to get 2 extra TP from a 1TP swing. As far as I can tell, Store TP works for multihit WS the same way as it does for your standard melee: base*(1+sTP/100). Since each hit is a base of 1, with 43 total Store TP you should be getting 1.4 TP per extra hit.Originally Posted by RKenshin
Also, as a PLD, I can confidently say that I get hit for 2TP on everything except Shield blocks or MNKs (each fist gives 1 TP, and Shield Mastery adds 1.5 to each fist).
No, after I WS I'm left with 16.4 TP which displays as a TP return of 16 (with 48 Store TP for WS). Adding on the 1.4 TP from the second attack, it puts me at 17.8 TP which should display as 18 TP. However, this isn't the case, a DA displays as 17 TP.
Even furthermore for Tachi: Jinpu, landing a DA would give a TP return of 16.4 + 1.4 + 1.4 for a return of 19 TP. But, DAs give me 18 TP (16.4 + 1 + 1).
And, no, you wouldn't need 200 Store TP to get a 2 TP return. It'd take 100. 50 STP would turn a 1 TP return into a 1.5 TP return, 100 STP would turn a 1 TP return into a 2 TP return, and 200 Store TP would turn a 1 TP return into a 3 TP return. You move the decimal over to the left two times for the STP number, multiply it by the TP return, and add the original TP return.
2.00 * 1 = 2.00, + 1 = 3.00
ffxi always rounds down, it's annoying <<;
So technically it's right assuming this, 16+1+1 = 18, not 19. That's how ints work, plain and simple really. Never assume rounding when basing int based usage in a program.
Zarath: TP isn't integer math; it's either fixed point or float. (both would have a similar effect after truncation).
I was under the impression that TP display is always floored? (as in. 17.8 TP would display as 17 TP)
otherwise you could have issues where you would display as having 100TP but actually have 99.9 TP - which wouldn't be sufficient for weaponskilling.
