When you get elm log 5 weeks in a row, you'd probably want an exp scroll the next week

That'd be excellent. If i get back into the 2-man runs, i'll post my results here also. The two of us have done it around 7 times, and out of those 14 turn-ins we've gotten 2 Crimson Jelly and the rest scrolls.

In the past you were able to talk to Justinus with full inventory to see what you were going to get. If you did not like the item, you could zone out and talk to him again and it would randomly select a reward from the loot pool again. That is the trick I was referring to, I used it to pass up many a Tiger Eye and Breem Risotto. Sadly it was changed a while ago.

I've never had to zone while doing this. It will, however, "lock" once you hit the exp scroll. So this trick is really only good for a) checking potential results, or b) ensuring that you get an exp scroll.

I duo'd this fight every week for several months, occasionally taking as many as 5 people, but usually duo. I've never seen an orb or hide, unfortunately, but I have seen 3 mannequin bodies, lots of other parts, and of course plenty of crap. Now that my partner in crime is back, I've started doing it again. It might be interesting to compile some results for this, noting number of people and rewards for each, similar to Divisortheory's spreadsheet of ??? item results.

From what I am reading here... it sounds like as long as you didn't zone, you'd still have the AB offered to you. So just go to your Moogle and unload until you aren't full anymore and talk again to obtain the item.

No, you get something different after making room. That's why I say that having a full inv is pointless... you'll never get what you see and if you get something good you'll just kill yourself.

I always had to zone. If I talked to him again without making room, I'd keep getting offerd the same thing over and over (e.g. mushroom risotto) until I zoned, then I'd get offered something else over and over. Of course, once I was offered a scroll, zoning didn't change it.

I'm positive I got something different after making room and it's highly unlikely that I made room and zoned. I'll try this Sunday if my partner shows up and post a screenie . If I get an Assault Breastplate and I'm unable to obtain it I'll probably go berserk .

I figured a bigger alliance would be the only way to get this thing to drop, so I would just force an exp scroll every week. One week, however, it wouldn't let me force the exp scroll. I just kept going through the list of what Justinius could give as possible rewards and I found out that Behemoth Hide, Siren's Hair and Angel Skin we're possible drops as well as Assault Breastplate despite only going into the BC with two people.

Holy crap, was this the only time you saw this happen? Maybe the BC has some ridiculous 5% chance of selecting from the "good" loot pool, if it cycled between those items.

I cycled through the drops like 300+ times lol. I only saw the Breastplate about 5-7 times through all that talking to Justinius.

Well nuts Was hopeful given the b.hide and cloud evoker in the cycle. After about 7-8 times the best thing our group has seen so far has been like an HQ bison steak.

Mannequin pieces are nice money, habu skins are a respectable 100k. Dragon bone and oversized fang are lol. XP scroll is ok. No evokers though /sigh.

Yeah, the only time you really have to zone I think is when you get an exp scroll. Once Justinius gives the exp scroll it locks you into that item.

See, that screen shot illustrates what I was saying. What good is seeing that you would have gotten an assault breastplate if there's no way to actually get it?

Seriously, that screen shot shows a breastplate, behe hide and a cloud evoker all lost. I'd cry if that happened to me.

So does zoning unlock him from the exp scroll?
