SAM/RNG is pretty doable, meleeburning it is pretty much out of the question.

i tried SAM/RNG, my sidewinder does like 300 dmg with sushi, and it still misses occasionaly, and this is with archery merit and gorget ect. with meat sidewinder does like 400-500 i think, but it miss way too much
BST pets are pretty decent damage on this since they do not get intimidated. Send a pet on gration, find some too weak mobs to tp on and WS gration.
NM is pretty easy, can be done safely with 6 people with proper jobs. I usually go as mnk/nin. Chi Blast for 1.5K+ and just kite. Pretty straight forward if you ask me, just like Kirin. :D
Of course, but you don't see BLMs saying "Well shit, he intimidated my first Thunder IV, time to call it a day. /disband"Originally Posted by Jeryhn
But yes, it did take the DRK a few tries to stick it. Still, unless the DRK could have come as some more useful (for Gration) job, why not do it? Or just have a RDM go /DRK and try to land it occasionally, which is I think what the small group did.
My DRK is level 5, and I didn't see this info on the wiki, so...if you recast this spell as soon as it was up again, would it take more CHR, or just bump it back to the max value attained with the first Absorb-CHR? Or does the effect generally wear off by then anyway? Feel free to speculate from your experience with other absorb-stat spells that you may actually care about/use.
Because honestly, the DRK would be better served draining attributes and TP from the surrounding links, and just dropping a bomb WS. Not sure about Gration's stick rate on Absorbs from a DRK's dark skill (being it's a "small" NM) but check below why it probably won't work as well as you think.Originally Posted by Bakthi
It would just bump the CHR Down effect to the max you can drain from the monster (i.e. it doesn't stack).Originally Posted by Bakthi
Also, funny note: When it comes to Absorb spells, you'll oftentimes aquire more of a stat than you actually drained from the target. I've started using Absorb-MND and Absorb-CHR quite frequently at Cerberus and Khimaira and their Stat Down effects will normally wear off long before the Stat Up on me does. Horrible stick rate all the same (gogo 200 dark skill).
Best kiters for this are brd or /brds. Mazurka won't be intimidated so you can maintain hate easily without worrying about a voke/flash/whatever getting intimidated and a blm getting eaten. Might take a little longer than a pld to get hate, but once i got it, I kited as brd/nin without losing hate until he finally managed to tag me with a nice thundaga III :D
