For one, we didn't see him after he Ameratsu(sp?)'d the wall during the Naruto/Kakashi(?)/Jiraiya/Sasuke encounter. Second, even if it did show his eyes they might not have bled simply because he was not producing as much fire as the amount he produced in this chapter.

It's not a stretch to simply say he did the Ameratsu thing to the fullest of his ability considering how Sasuke surprised him by countering the genjutsu relatively easily. Countering the genjutsu might have had an effect on the toll it took on him, or he might have simply had to put more into the jutsu considering he was going against someone skilled with their Sharingan now.

Susano'o (?????, Susa-no-O-no-Mikoto?, also romanized as Susanoo, Susa-no-O, and Susanowo) in Shinto is the god of the sea and storms.

In Japanese mythology, Susanoo is the brother of Amaterasu, the goddess of the sun, and of Tsukuyomi, the god of the moon. All three were spawned from Izanagi, when he washed his face clean of the pollutants of Yomi, the underworld. Amaterasu was born when Izanagi washed out his right eye, Tsukuyomi was born from the washing of the left eye, and Susanoo from the washing of the nose.

Sources tell of long-standing rivalry between Susanoo and his sister. When he was to leave Heaven by orders of Izanagi, he went to bid his sister goodbye. Amaterasu, suspicious, proposed a challenge on the spot: each of them was to transform an object of the other's into people. Amaterasu created three women from Susanoo's sword while he created five men from her necklace. Claiming the men were hers because they were born of her necklace, Susanoo destroyed her rice fields, hurled a flayed pony at her loom, and killed one of her attendants in a fit of rage. Amaterasu, in fury and grief, hid inside Ama-no-Iwato, the "heavenly rock cave," thus effectively hiding the sun for a long period of time.

Though she was persuaded to leave the cave, Susanoo was punished by being banished from Heaven. He descended to the province of Izumo, where he met an elderly couple. Seven of their eight daughters had been devoured by the eight-headed serpent Yamata-no-Orochi and it was about to come for the eighth, Kushinada-hime (?????, Kushinada-hime?). After the couple promised their daughter's hand in marriage to Susano'o, he agreed to slay Orochi. With the aid of eight bowls of sake (one for each head), Susano'o decapitated the monster once it had fallen asleep.

From one of Orochi's tails, Susanoo pulled out a sword, which he named Ama-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi ("Sword of the Gathering Clouds of Heaven"), later known as the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi. The sword was presented to Amaterasu as a reconciliation gift and was later given to her descendant Ninigi along with the Yata-no-Kagami (a mirror) and magatama (sacred jewels) as proof of his divine right to rule.

Itachi is going to get Sasuke drunk (possible twist involving Tsunade) and cut off his head.



In all honesty that wiki quote is a pretty interesting read, it's funny (but I'm not surprised) how much the manga references it. Amaterasu fucked up Itachi's right eye, Tsukuyomi used his left eye.

In all honesty, at this point, I think it would be better if itachi got sasuke's eyes. I said it in a previous post as well, the story can really get more interesting if this happens. I mean, lets say sasuke wins, he has 2 choices, take his bro's eyes and goes after madara, or leaves his bro's eyes to continue his gaining power on his own and then going after madara...

However if he loses, and more importantly, loses and eye or both, he now has 2 enemies which are even more retardedly strong now... not to mention, how will he overcome losing his most important thing? He'll have to search for ways to get powerful while either being blind, or by taking kakashi's eyes or finding a new power. Not to mention, he might need the leaf's help at this point, sharing a common enemy, and being less able then he was. Maybe sasuke can rip out the rinnengan from pain and form an eye thats the combonation of both sharingan and rinn and be like all crazy and shit. Either way, if he loses an eye or 2, he might need help since he'll be on a whole new journey, with even more hatred making his and itachi's characters even more reliant and important on each other.

This is what I've been thinking all along too. Though I'm a Sasuke fan and would rather not have him get his eyes taken this path leads to more of an interesting read for his character and is probably going to be what happens.

Considering the series is going to take more of a focus on sasuke, this is why I think that scenario will happen. What better way to focus on sasuke by giving him a long ass journey or crap like they would give naruto. Hes blind, or missing an eye, and he needs to find a way to become stronger than madara and itachi with either one less eye or no sharingan at all. I guess if he's blind the genjutsus cant work as well on him but everything else sure can.
