On snake contracts I figured Manda was a douchebag that Sauce intentionally sacrificed because he never liked the him. It doesn't mean all snakes are douchebags but Manda sure was. Hell, Gamabunta is a yakuza toad and Naruto/Jiraiya seemed cool with that.

It was a honest question. I had only seen one "die" (Manda), and i cant remember if it was stated that he had actually died. It's the only situation i remember with a summon getting seriously hurt. So yes, it was a question.
