If Orochimaru is truly out of the picture, then is there any downside now to Sasuke using the CS? I thought the only negative effect it had was bring people more under Orochimaru's control?

#1 best thing about the chapter for me, Itachi is shown WITHOUT his Sharingan, they BOTH aren't using it right now. He got hit so hard and had to use that protective barrier... he had to take his sharingan off, fucking awesome.

I really liked how the jutsu sasuke used was beyond a normal humans power because it called upon other forces. Pretty sick.

And what do you mean Orochimaru's eye is showing up? Where is it showing up? Sasuke took off his sharingan, and turned back into CS2, that's all I see...

cause he isnt using chakra to create the lightning, the atmosphere is doing that for him. he's just controlling/guiding it, which i assume requires little chakra considering he's probably pretty good at handling lightning.

also, it's definitely CS2; he has the diamond thing on his forehead. if it was just CS1 he'd only have those black markings swirling on his skin. he's clearly changed forms at the end of this issue.

I think this fight is really going great. Really seeing how Sasuke managed to progress given all the training he's been receiving and getting to see Itachi come to grips with the situation and pulling out his trump card. Very reminiscent of the Sasori fight, trump card after trump card, these Akatsuki guys just love waiting until the last second to use their better jutsus lol.

no reason to use their best jutsus beforehand though, better save it for an "ohshi--" situation then blow it in the beginning and either a) miss/fuck up or b) reveal it. ultimate jutsu at the end of a fight when your opponent's pretty drained > ultimate jutsu at the start of a fight when you dont know wtf could happen.

I think he means the eyeliner around his left eye.... however Orochimaru's eyes don't look like that outline either..... but i guess you can compare the two.

His eyes are just really dark outside them, not the same shape at all as sasuke in that panel.
